Ballpark Pens - Salvaged Wood Pens

Selectism - Ballpark Pens - Salvaged Wood Pens

Die hard baseball fans love memorabilia. It is like taking home a piece of the game game balls, baseball cards, or on the high end, coveted field seats that are salvaged when renovations replace the old with the new. The problem is that one of those old Fenway box seats can run in the thousands of dollars due to rarity. Chicago baseball fan Bill Hartel and Mary Ann Wentzel have come up with a way to take the seats everywhere via your shirt pocket. Their Ballpark Pens are made from salvaged baseballpark seat woods - Fenway, Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field, and a bundle ofother classic American stadiums. They come at a discounted price when compared to fullseats and double as writing instruments. Visit them at ballparkpens.com for moreinformation.

If I was heading to the UEFA Champions League Final today in Moscow, there would beonly two things I was sure of: that no hotels would be available and that I would need a decent overnight bag to keep my goods in order for the train ride back. This Overnight Shoulder Bag from Etro would be a good fit for that long voyage. "The bag has a single zip fastening and a small rectangular stitched logo patch on the front. Chloe Sevigny to create Opening Ceremony range for men

After all the hype surrounding her début collection for Opening Ceremony, it looks like Chloe Sevigny may be about to do it all over again, with an upcoming menswear line. Word on the street is that the Big Love actress is planning on collaborating with the US label again on a range for guys, that will also be available in girl versions.

"Not only did I want to do something for the guys in my life, but a lot of my girlfriends prefer to wear men's stuff," Sevigny told Style File. "I think what they like about men's clothes is the fit. So I don't want to change that. It'll be a new challenge." The female versions will not feature different tailoring, they will simply be available in smaller sizes. Sevigny also revealed that had it not been for the writer's strike, which left her in New York for fourth months, there might not have been a follow-up collection.

"If I had known that I [was going to have] that time off, I probably would have thought about doing another collection. But I'm really looking forward to doing something completely different, too," she added. Via Brandish.

Stone Island, Aitor Throup - Modular Anatomy

Selectism - Stone Island and Aitor Throup - Modular Anatomy

Wallpaper takes an interesting look into a forthcoming collaboration between Stone Island and designer Aitor Throup. "Another debut at Salone this year was Modular Anatomy, the first instalment of what looks to be an interesting collaboration between Stone Island and young fashion designer Aitor Throup. The project involves the construction of an ostensibly traditional down jacket pieced together in small parts using separate, individually filled cushion segments... Throup's design philosophy starts with the human form and allows the garment to evolve organically, hence the building-block approach rather than a more conventional construction using sleeves, armholes and body panels... "

Karl Lagerfeld: Metamorphoses of an American

Selectism - Karl Lagerfeld: Metamorphoses of an American

Our friends at Hint offer a nice glimpse into Karl Lagerfeld's photography project, Metamorphosis of American - A Cycle of Youth 2003-2008. "Karl Lagerfeld has spent the better part of the last five years photographing Ford model Brad Koenig for projects ranging from gallery shows to ad campaigns. But that's just the beginning. They've also rendezvoused each month to shoot Brad as any number of fictional characters and real-life icons, i.e. James Dean, Rudolph Valentino and Lieutenant Pinkerton from Madame Butterfly. Proving the shelf life of a model doesn't have to be short, Karl has now compiled those images of the Missouri native in a book, Metamorphoses of an American (Steidl), which he launched last Friday at Pace/MacGill gallery..."

highsnobiety - The End of Game: The Last Word from Paradise

For 20 years Peter Beard studied the effects of the adventures, missionaries, hunters and explores who changed the face of the African continent in the name of "progress." The End of Game compiles historic images and essays to tell the story of the "opening" of Africa through to a photographic study of the Tsavo lowlands and Ugandan wildlife parks.

Beard's book was originally published in 1965, and reworked for release in 1977. Taschen is now resurrecting The End of Game with a new forward from travel writer Paul Theroux. A selection of images from the volume can be found after the jump.

Loro Piana's Baby Cashmere

Selectism - Loro Piana's Baby Cashmere

"In the mountainous regions of Inner Mongolia, Loro Piana discovered Baby Cashmere®: a rare and precious fibre exclusively obtained from the underfleece of the Hyrcus goat kid. It is gathered by means of a delicate and completely harmless procedure done only once in a goat’s life, when it is between three and twelve months old. Loro Piana Baby Cashmere® is available in extremely limited quantities: one kid produces barely 80 grams of the softest undefleece which, once the coarser outer fibres have been discarded, results in just 30-40 grams of useable fibre. So fine are the fibres of Baby Cashmere® that it takes the underfleece of 19 kids to make just one pullover." (via Luxist)

French Truckers presents a quick refresh on the Olver Goldsmith Sunglass line. "Oliver Goldsmith is an English brand created in 1926 which saw its heyday in the 60s. At the time, it was represented by the actresses Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren. In 2005, Clara Goldsmith, the founder’s granddaughter relaunched the brand using her grandfather’s artistic heritage. Around 30 models were re-released. And this new era came with new icons: Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Jude Law, Jessica Simpson and Gwyneth Paltrow all posed for Oliver Goldsmith. And this year, the arrival of designer Brian McGinn (an Irishman? Yes sir!) aims to bring new styles whilst using the know-how and hand crafted 100% British style." 100 Styles And Running | The Abbott

Sneakers

100 styles and running abbott - highsnobiety

Founded in 2006 by two brothers, 100 Styles And Running is a new contemporary mens sportswear shoe brand. They define their designs as a meaningful re-interpretation of the past, which means that while being innovative, all-time classics still remain one of their major inspirations.

We present you the Abbott model here, which is part of their Summer '08 collection. The Abbott is a retro high top sneaker, slightly more sophisticated than your usual shoe that you come across. Premium materials and color ways are the standard in the collection.

There is a lot more to come from the brand. We would compare them to Clae for example, another shoe brand that has come back strong in the recent year.

Check out some more images of the Abbott after the jump.

The New Ferrari California GT

Accessories

Selectism - The New Ferrari California GT

Though the Telegraph UK may have the English prose on the new Ferrari California launch last week, we can turn to Openers for some more exclusive photos of this V8 beast. From the Telegraph: For the first time in a Ferrari, there will be no manual gearbox option and power will be 30bhp down on the entry-level F430. Engine revs are lower and torque is slightly increased, all signs that this car is much more of a luxurious tourer than a hardcore sports car. "It's not a screamer," said a Ferrari spokesman this week. "It's not track-based and it's not about out-and-out power; it's more driveable." The naturally aspirated 4,300cc V8 will be matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for a smoother drive. The 0-62mph sprint will take less than four seconds and carbon dioxide emissions will be about 310g/km.  The Ferrari California is set to launch at the Paris Auto Show in October.
