SUPER is revealing their Fall line. They are known for their classic over-sized wayfarer style, and are all manufactured in Italy with hand-made acetate and Carl Zeiss lenses. The upcoming 2008 Fall collection sticks to the wayfarer style with their own added twists and a variety of bright colors. They are subtly evolving the look they launched with in a way that really freshens a familiar look. (via hypebeast)
J. Crew has been doing a great job recently of really putting together one of the best lifestyle brands around. Between their high profile collaborations with Selima Optique and Globe-trotter, to their new men's store opening in Tribeca this Fall, to bringing textiles, selvedge denim, and cashmeres from exclusive mills around the globe to consumers at an 'affordable' price, I'm not sure anyone is doing more to grow what has always been a solid brand.
Now J.Crew will begin to sell a large collection of vintage Rolexes in stores and on their website. The watch pictured above is listed at $7850.
Men.style tapped our friends at Blackbird Seattle for a spot in their Fall 2008 Buyers Guide. Congrats to them for being the tastemakers we have always known them to be. In particular, we could not not talking about their backpack pick; a gem from Robert Geller. "We have seen a lot of backpacks lately but Geller's really stands out above the rest. The techy design manages to stay surprisingly subtle and most importantly, very functional." Find it now for 1607$ US. We're not sure what the extra $7 are for but we assume fuel.
Bathing in the sun requires 1. eyewear and 2. alcohol... for some. The problem is when you mix the two. A bit too much booze and you may end up sitting on those aviators and calling their quick mangled death. Luckily for you (me) Mykita's Flash Collection of sunglasses are made from a "highly innovated" material that makes them extremely flexible and lightweight. When I walked into the Ace Hotel in Portland, OR this past Spring, I was told to keep an eye out for the cashmere blankets on the beds. These were the inspiration used in developing the special sized throw blankets for Number (N)ine to accentuate their Fall 2008 collection, known as "My Own Private Portland." But the connection to the Ace went even further. As Artikel von Lisa described for Ultra back in February, "'My Own Private Portland' ...opened with an Ace Hotel voicemail message... And Portland-made Pendleton wool blankets were folded on each seat at the show...They’re now at Number (N)ine’s Manhattan flagship store..."
We've also been told to keep an eye out for some new collaborative works coming for Winter 2009 with the opening of Ace's New York hotel including pillows and more.
With the middle of the summer having arguably pasted, we figured we would take time to reflect on some looks we have much enjoyed. This pair of Tom Ford Jason glasses is up there. Italy's Super is back with some nice new styles on their Wayfarer. This time the brand introduces the "24K Gold Lenses" on a black and a white frame. An 80's classic now back, hand-made in Italy and of course with Zeiss lenses.
Caliroots will be releasing them tomorrow, July 24th, at 12pm CET.
On a side note, Super is also showing at (capsule) this week, so you might want to visit them!

Just last week we gave you a preview of the new A.P.C. Fall/Winter 2008 collection. The French brand has so far never let us down and it is also not the case this season.
Here we take a closer look at some of the accessories of the new collection. A nice brown leather bag comes in rich leather. One can just see that the leather will become nicer with usage. Also the plaid and corduroy belts look fantastic and can make any boring outfit a hit. Never too much, but just enough to catch interest.
