Fashion

highsnobiety - undercover f/w 2008 unreal real clothes

The upcoming Undercover Fall/Winter 2008 collection is entitled "Unreal Real Clothes". The Japanese brand never misses to impress with their creations.

Here we give you a first look at a couple of pieces from the new collection. The brand presents graphic t-shirts, Gore-Tex jackets as well as some more simple down vests and shirts. Each piece has its own twist and smart addition, that you might only see the second time around.

It's great discovering new things about clothing that you buy, and that's one of the things we enjoy so much with Undercover. Pics via TK.

selectism - Mulberry Collaborates With Fred Gallery

To mark this years start of the Frieze Art Fair, UK label Mulberry has teamed  up with Fred Gallery and some of their artists to create limited edition versions of some of their bags.

"Philip Jones, Peter Jones, Kate Davis, Simon English and Paul Hosking are the artists taking part, having been commissioned by Mulberry to create unique prints for its Calder tote. The latest of a raft of artist/ bag collaborations we've seen over the past few years from the big accessory houses, limited-edition versions of these bags will be available from the flagship space. It's not the first time Mulberry has teamed up with an artist - they collaborated with fashion illustrator Julie Verhoeven for A/W 07 - but this time work will be exhibited alongside the products on sale." The collaboration will begin in September and carry on through October to coincide with the Frieze Art Fair in Regent's Park.

Plaid Men in August GQ

Books & Magazines

Before I can even pick up the issue, A Continuous Lean has scans of another nice feature in August's GQ. This month they hit you with Mr. John Slattery AKA Roger Sterling, of critically acclaimed television show, Mad Men, cloaked head-to-toe in plaid suiting. It makes me wish I had more occasions to wear a suit. Check out ACL for all the photos.

Stone Island Shadow Project Collection Fall/Winter 2008/09

Selectism - Stone Island Shadow Project Collection Fall/Winter 2008/09

The combination of classic silhouettes and advanced technologies has proven an interesting sub-trend in contemporary fashion. Most of these focus on adding a tweak here or there, or reinterpreting a garment in a new fabric. The STONE ISLAND SHADOW project takes the step further. In some respects it reverses logical thinking. Garments are reformed from the inside.

A collaborative effort between Stone Island and Acronym the Shadow Project is a merger. A completely new theoretical tack on the preexisting archival resources of Stone Island, through the lens of Acronym. We present you a preview of the '08-'09 line, complete with the intriguing full story behind the aims and goals of this ambitious work.

We preview Stone Island's Shadow Project for Fall/Winter 2008/09 including a technical video walkthrough of the line after the jump.

Colette Announces Mini-Shops And Mini Colette

Stores

highsnobiety - Colette Announces Mini-Shops | Alife/Original Fake/Bape/BBC

We have already reported that Colette is currently renovating their store in Paris. Today they announced some features of the new renovated store and it for sure sounds intriguing and interesting.

"The will indeed is to ensure the first floor a broadened out area, not only dedicated to fashion, and also a more accessible space for streetwear, so dynamic today. colette therefore contacted Japanese architect Masamichi Katayama / Wonderwall* to go over its ground floor and finally decided to let him redesign all three floors. A real challenge for him because of the limited time and existing space to work with.

On the ground floor, clients will still find a selection of books, magazines, CDs, records, DVDs, hi-tech products, watches and accessories, and all these little fun objects we love. There will also be a space dedicated to streetwear culture with a wall of sneakers, a house of tshirts multi-brands and mini-shops Alife, A Bathing Ape, Billionaire Boys Club / Ice Cream, Original Fake (all exclusive).

On the first floor, find always mens and womens fashion with our unique mix of established brands and newcomers, as well as accessories and precious jewelry. Beauty, “candles bar” and our favorites of the season will come to complete. The gallery remains were currently situated and a new space for temporary projects will be created below."

We cannot wait for the new store to be finished. August 25 is the re-opening.

In the meantime you can visit the Mini Colette Store at 23 Place du Marché Saint Honoré.
