Our good friends at We Are The Market turns us on to some previews of the Acne spring/summer 2009 collection. "At the company’s fashion show last week in Stockholm, designer Johnny Johannsen took a modern interpretation of America’s bad boy culture of the 1950s, with wider trousers, shortened ties, cowboy boots and motorcycle jacket detailing as key elements of the collection."

Blackbird has stocked a great look for the fall season from Obedient Sons - The Standard Continental Jacket. "This jacket has two buttons, a single vent in the back, and two interior pockets (double welt, standard sized). It features working buttons at the cuff, canvased construction, a single welt chest pocket, and the two front pocket flaps may be tucked in for double welt pockets."

We have previously reported on the bag created for Freemans Transport bike but did not have photos of the bike at the time. Well now we do. Ben Ferencz and Nathaniel Freeman, founders of Freeman Transport, have teamed up with NYC's Billykirk Leathers to produce a co-branded accessory line. Freeman's debut bike, available for preorder now, is built by hand with a two-part frame that can be disassembled to fit into Billykirk's waxed-canvas and leather bag (pictured, below), ideal for those times when biking isn't feasible. The bike-and-bag set carries a $2,475 price tag. Estate Los Angeles are also producing hats for the brand, lined in chambray.

Men.style.com gives us a preview of Gucci’s 2009 spring footwear collection. It reveals some new updated designs of their own Native American-inspired sneaker as well as some more conservative styles. Next year’s collection sees the high-top style updated with patent leather and skirt while other models include patent loafers and traditional lace-ups.

Bell & Ross just got even more desirable with this new set for the BRS Ceramic Instrument Collection. The four models are housed in smaller 39mm casings and come in black or white ceramic. Two of models in the BRS collection also feature diamond encrusted bezels. Top shelf Bell & Ross. Available in October.

Amy Odell of NY Mag's The Cut discusses two trends of the summer 08 - high water trousers and cutoff shorts. "The men's high-waters Thom Browne introduced to the runway in 2004 are catching on this season... two of the strongest fashion-forward men's trends catching on this summer are happening below the belt, and they're rather silly: ankle-exposing pants and cutoff shorts."

Colette might be shut for renovation, but that doesn't stop the Parisian store from displaying interesting and thought provoking art pieces. Growing up on a small pig farm in rural Western Kentucky has given Neil Powell a singular perspective on the fragility of life, the inevitability of death, the shadow of loneliness, and the underappreciated ability to castrate a hog. Much of his childhood was spent in isolation, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the countryside and the inescapable ugliness of poverty and addiction. Neils work searches for meaning and understanding of these experiences and how they have led him down his life path. By obsessively documenting the personalities of small town life, their often-conflicting attitudes and his emotional struggle to leave for something better, the resulting images take the form of maps, diagrams and schematics that have been described as modern day hieroglyphics.

Powell's Down by the Side of the Road opens tonight at 222 Gallery, located at 451 N. Fairfax, LA, California. The show runs until August 1.
