As part of their Lee Cooper 100 project, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the denim brand, they have collaborated with high end eyewear brand Alain Mikli.

With a passion for innovation, Lee Cooper and Alain Mikli produce eyewear like no other.  Working from his lab in Paris, Alain revived his original 70s model. He proceeded to take apart a pair of 5 pocket Lee Cooper jeans to see what the core ingredients were. Denim aside, he focused on the zip and rivets. Lee Cooper jeans were then infused onto the frame – the first time this has ever been done.

Happy with the frame, Mikli moved onto the lens. Through sheer experimentation, Mikli devised a lens that includes a Lee Cooper zip, with the zipper teeth also carved in – pure imagination and completely conceptual. To match these hand made glasses, Alain designed a case from a Lee Cooper jean with the glasses fitting snuggly inside. What you see is innovation. A complex procedure crafted by a design genius.

At first you think somebody knows how to use Photoshop, but once you realize that its all reality, it is definitely very impressive. Alain Mikli also designed Kanye West's Shutter Shades, that were reported about in all media and this new Lee Cooper collaboration once again confirms his innovative nature.

The new Nom De Guerre Fall/Winter 2008 collection has arrived at Oki-Ni. The first drop consists of a nice short parka, hooded shirt as well as some quality knitwear. Furthermore you will find classic selvedge denim and some accessories, including hats and matching scarf as well as a travel bag. All in all a subtle collection, but definitely not boring.

To mark this years start of the Frieze Art Fair, UK label Mulberry has teamed  up with Fred Gallery and some of their artists to create limited edition versions of some of their bags.

"Philip Jones, Peter Jones, Kate Davis, Simon English and Paul Hosking are the artists taking part, having been commissioned by Mulberry to create unique prints for its Calder tote. The latest of a raft of artist/ bag collaborations we've seen over the past few years from the big accessory houses, limited-edition versions of these bags will be available from the flagship space. It's not the first time Mulberry has teamed up with an artist - they collaborated with fashion illustrator Julie Verhoeven for A/W 07 - but this time work will be exhibited alongside the products on sale." The collaboration will begin in September and carry on through October to coincide with the Frieze Art Fair in Regent's Park.

While much of the world is speeding things up, hoping on track bikes and championing the "oneness" achieved through fixed gear, Evisu slows it down. With Dutch Bicycle manufacturer Grand 1888, they've developed a special edition bespoke cruiser. Everything on the bike is handcrafted from the steel frame to the gold plackets on the mud guard. The bikes are all individually numbered and come with a limited selvedge constructed Evisu bike duffel. 

Another Eastpak showcase from BBB Barcelona. Raf Simons for Eastpak Spring 2009 is being previewed. The line, which takes a touch of a departure from the last with their take on a mesh material against backpacks and duffles. No doubt this relationship will continue to output successful collections.

Eastpak is showcasing a variety of collaborations at Bread and Butter Barcelona. We'll start by previewing the Spring 2009 Eley Kishimoto collaboration which takes the hounds tooth pattern into a cowlick style swirl across blues, reds, and blacks. A very nice look for the coming spring.
