Comme des Garcons has a nice range of hunting caps in their Autumn/Winter 2008 collection. Mixing different plaid colors and patterns gives the caps a distinct look and sets them apart from your usual Kangol. Also it makes matching a lot easier, as they match everything (or nothing, however you want to look at it!).
I think we have just found our favorite hats so far for the Fall/Winter 2008 season. Junya Watanabe has just come out with these Cord Trilby Hats. They come in two colorways.
The combination of the classic silhouette, warm cord upper, check lining and then the poppy ribbon colors is just perfect and gives the classic hat a nice modern appeal.

Started in 2003, Racal is a domestic Japanese brand from the minds behind the "How Natural" label. These tweed hats are part of a collaboration with Lounge Lizard Japan. We're almost begging for them to be avaiable outside of Japan. Killer tweed colorways on this Racal hats. (via houyhnhnm)
Senor Williams over at ACL directs us to a very well written article in the latest issue of GQ entitled, "Use Your Head : The GQ Guide to Buying a Hat." "The handy guide from GQ basically breaks down everything you need to know to wear a hat without looking like you just got off a flight from LAX. Much respect to GQ for making the guide without including pictures of Justin Timberlake or Brad Pitt."
Look for it now in the latest issue of GQ to be found at any reputable newsstand.
Yet another interesting collaboration has come out as part of the colette x Gap concept pop-up store in New York. The two worked with Kangol on the Peebles Cap. In true Gap fashion, the cap comes covered in their signature grey fleece and with colette blue Kangol logo.
The colette x Gap x Kangol Peebles Cap is now available in the colette online store for reasonable 36 euros.

The Marmotte Pack from London's Rapha may be the finest cycling kit we've encountered for 2008. Taking its inspiration from the one day 174km La Marmotte event, the Marmotte kit sports a lightweight Rapha jersey, arm warmers, merino socks, and of course, the Rapha Cap, with its distinct black stripe. We prefer the kit in the white colourway. A damn good for the roads. Available now from rapha.cc.
The new Nom De Guerre Fall/Winter 2008 collection has arrived at Oki-Ni. The first drop consists of a nice short parka, hooded shirt as well as some quality knitwear. Furthermore you will find classic selvedge denim and some accessories, including hats and matching scarf as well as a travel bag. All in all a subtle collection, but definitely not boring.

It is incredible seeing Mastermind Japan going into their 11th year and still you will hardly find any goods by the brand that are not black and do not carry the skull and bones logo. The drive to deliver superior quality with a subtle aesthetic just seems to work.
