Oi Polloi opened its doors in 2002. Since then the shop, founded by Steve Sanderson and Nigel Lawson, has brought a superb selection of technical outerwear, classically derived apparel and footwear to the Manchester (and the world via the web). What began out of a personal need blossomed into one of our niches leading outposts.

Building from a personal interest in footwear and outerwear to a full scale retail operation, Oi Polloi manages continued growth without sacrifice to the core identity and interest of its owners. This feat, which is rather remarkable, ensures a consistency of quality and aesthetic. From accessories to jackets, the obsession for detail bubbling within Steve and Nigel is both clear and ever present.

Glenn Kitson chatted with Steve Sanderson last week. His interview covers the basics of Oi Polloi, as well as digs into some of the regional differences at play in the English market.
