Cassette Playa For S***r

Shoes

selectism - Cassette Playa For S***r

We cannot really say that we have ever been big fans of UK's S***r shoes, but some collaborative efforts by the brand, including the ones with Fred Perry, Hummel or D.I.E. have attracted our attention and so does the recent work with Cassette Playa.

"The first two series of CP branded S***r shoes released over the course of 2008 with Playa 03 being the latest and the freshest ones. The collection is made around two shapes, a round flat, sneaker type and an aceed version of Jimmy Jazz shoe, which is basically an oxford classic on a 2 inch platform. Colours are signature Cassette Playa." Via The Clones.

The Look of LOVA

Selectism - The Look of LOVA

R29's Pipeline takes focus on California's LOVA line. "Though the line conjures images of Rebel Without a Cause James Dean with a splash of Ward Cleaver for good measure, LOVA Design never descends into costume. According to Murphy, 'by applying specialty fabrics like sharkskin, silk, and cashmere with modern tailoring, the clothing has a decidedly modern appeal.' Slim gingham shirts with button-down collars paired with expertly cut suit shorts, summer-weight silk jackets, and short-sleeve cardigans are perfect for the gentleman with a raffish edge (or those who wish they were.)"

Lee Cooper Collaborates With Alain Mikli

Accessories

selectism - Lee Cooper Collaborates With Alain Mikli

As part of their Lee Cooper 100 project, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the denim brand, they have collaborated with high end eyewear brand Alain Mikli.

With a passion for innovation, Lee Cooper and Alain Mikli produce eyewear like no other.  Working from his lab in Paris, Alain revived his original 70s model. He proceeded to take apart a pair of 5 pocket Lee Cooper jeans to see what the core ingredients were. Denim aside, he focused on the zip and rivets. Lee Cooper jeans were then infused onto the frame – the first time this has ever been done.

Happy with the frame, Mikli moved onto the lens. Through sheer experimentation, Mikli devised a lens that includes a Lee Cooper zip, with the zipper teeth also carved in – pure imagination and completely conceptual. To match these hand made glasses, Alain designed a case from a Lee Cooper jean with the glasses fitting snuggly inside. What you see is innovation. A complex procedure crafted by a design genius.

At first you think somebody knows how to use Photoshop, but once you realize that its all reality, it is definitely very impressive. Alain Mikli also designed Kanye West's Shutter Shades, that were reported about in all media and this new Lee Cooper collaboration once again confirms his innovative nature.

Make sure to have a look at more detailed views of the Alain Mikli For Lee Cooper sunglasses after the jump.

Robert Geller F/W 2008 Collection

Fashion

selectism - Robert Geller F/W 2008 Collection

We give you a look at the Robert Geller Fall/Winter 2008 collection. The designer with German heritage has been trained after attending the Rhose Island School Of Design at Marc Jacobs. Since 2005 he runs his own label, carrying his name, with much success.

The new Fall/Winter 2008 collection stays very much in the grey/black tones and plays with layers as well as with different lengths of the layers. In other colors the look would have been more messy, but Robert Gellers color combinations make it work and give it an overall clean look.

Expect it to land soon in stores such as Odin NYC and Roden Gray Vancouver.

highsnobiety - Unholy Matrimony For K.Z.O. F/W 2008

Brett Westfall of Unholy Matrimony has designed a couple of pieces for K.Z.O's Fall/Winter 2008 collection. The man is staying busy, after just recently a collaboration between him and Comme Des Garcons had been released.

For K.Z.O. he designed a flannel shirt and a t-shirt. The shirt is definitely an interesting creation. The charcoal portion is made from a heavy weight cotton flannel while the yellow portion is of a slightly lighter weight. Both the t-shirt and the shirt come in very high quality and with a great amount of details.

Both pieces are now available at Blackbird.
