McQueen Updates Samsonite Black Label in Silver

The striking rib cage "Hero" luggage that is the signature for Alexander McQueen’s Samsonite Black Label luggage is about to get  a new exterior with some shine – in a limited edition of course. "The shiny exterior, courtesy of a new paint technology, is developed in conjunction with Bayer. First developed for the motor industry, the paint is thermoformable and highly resistant to impact." As well it would seem that the coating is scratch resistant. I’d love to put this claim to the test through Heathrow or Dulles, the kings of airport handling. Fear not fans of the Black Label "Travel" crocodile skinned design. Its getting the shiny treatment too. Look for it come this November. (via li)
