The Independent | Saville Row suits not made in England?

richard james saville row The Independent | Saville Row suits not made in England?

There’s an interesting, if slightly misleading article in the Independent recently regarding where Saville Row suits are made. The article accuses Richard James of actually making his suits in Mauritius, sending them back to England, finishing them off and putting a ‘made in England’ label on them.

It’s not until you read further down the article that he hasn’t been committing the ultimate sin and making his bespoke suits on the cheap, but he’d outsourced his ready to wear range to a company called Wensum who then moved their offices to Mauritius in 2005. That said, Richard James did ask for a ‘Made in England’ label to be attached to the garment, knowing they were made overseas. Read the full article over at the Independent.
