superbowl design front A History of Super Bowl Design

Not every day does the sports page yield a tract on design. With the Super Bowl coming on Sunday, John Branch gives thought to the growth of the big game’s logo. Granted, the results are not always stunning, and often look a bit cheap, but they are part of the national consciousness (if only for a fleeting moment each winter). Check out his views at the NYT. A similar article on NBA All-Star Game uniforms would be appreciated.

  1. Cool post.

The current design, XLIII is clearly a rip off of Bank of America. Not that I care about BoA, just saying.

Does anyone know who designs the Superbowl logos and how a design may be submitted for consideration?
