This past Friday, Fred Perry opened it’s first retail store in the United States, in, of all places, New York City. Located at 133 Wooster Street, the Fred Perry Shop houses all the favorites including classic polos, knit cardigans, track jackets and vests round out the men’s showing, while knit dresses, wool coats and laurel emblazoned sweater sets make up the bulk of the womens.

We’ve been on a moccasin kick over the last few weeks. The latest comes in a mid-top studded moccasin from Bess. The black suede leather come with gold studs, suede laces, and ankle fringe. Not for all but we’ll bet you’ll try to pull it off. Available now from OAK NYC.

Gram works with SWD in some collaborative Spring 2009 footwear. “These shoes became an ode to Skywards love for textures and gram’s obsession with material. - “We have for the longest time been admirers of Annika Bergers work with Skyward so when given the chance to collaborate we didn’t hesitate for a second. Her patterns are fantastic and it was exciting to see how they would transfer onto such a small surface area. Of course it all worked out beautifully”. Woolrich Woolen Mills brings a full view of their Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. Choice colors include firey reds and orange hues on classic hunting jackets and slacks. A tribute to Hans Scharoun’s 1963 Berlin Philharmonie, Jean Nouvel’s Copenhagen Concert Hall was reviewed in today’s New York Times. Given both recent interest in the city and in Nouvel on the site, it seemed prudent to mention the building which opened doors this past Sunday. In the words of Nicolai Ouroussoff “It’s a powerful example of how to mine historical memory without stifling the creative imagination.”

Paul Smith’s trademark Miller brogues have been available in various hues for several seasons now and Smith’s SS09 collection looks to carry on in that tradition. Part of the Dip-Dye range, these brogues have been put through a vigorous process which is detailed below.

Part of the Dip-Dye range, the uppers of these shoes have been immersed in dyes and tumbled in large wooden drums to dye the upper leather, the lining and the stitching for intense colour.

Lad Musician’s SS09 ‘DJ’ collection is the perfect antidote to the sombre Milan menswear shows. Although the collection doesn’t shy away from muted tones, there’s also a healthy amount of bright, colour blocked shirts, shorts and jackets. The suits take the Thom Browne influence to the next level, essentially making them ¾ length jackets. Check after the jump for the collection.

The A/W 09 shows have been predictably gloomy, with coats and jackets mostly going the way of grey. So why not get a head start with this Burberry wool overcoat?
