The one who runs under the name ACL turns us onto a new line of technical wear from Los Angeles based Aether. The collection of outerwear “aims to fill the void left by the outdoor companies that put out very little cool looking performance apparel.” Aether’s wears are fashioned for use by late spring snow champions and those spending time in the wild. Following the first in the series, Spacecraft 2 details further projects that attempt to navigate changing spatial needs and standing definitions of architecture. Pitti WORKWEAR, a new exhibition project from the people behind Pitti Uomo fashion show, opened to solid reviews on Wednesday. As Bruce Pask at The Moment describes, “There were rows and rows of uniforms, from metallic fireproof suits and Carhartt construction-worker classics to doppelgängers with designer labels: jumpsuits from Thierry Mugler and Agnès b., a leather apron dress from Hermès and some great pieces from Gianni Versace’s 1994 women’s collection inspired by men’s overalls were great representations of the influence of the workman on fashion.” The exhibit gallery will be opened through February 8th at Stazione Leopolda in Florence, Italy.

WWD is reporting that the Alexander McQueen for Puma line will expand to include clothing. The unexpected move from the collaborative line will be shown during Milan Fashion Week which begins tomorrow. We hope for good things from the Mancat.

For those heading to (capsule) this coming Monday in NYC be sure to stop in at the Krane for a look at their Fall/Winter 2009 collection. Based in Canada, Krane has been present at (capsule) for some time now and with their expanded menswear collection under Krane Man, we can only assume a great collection for the Fall.

Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Oliver Schick designs furniture of simple form constructed with experimental materials and processes. His “walker” chair turns a familiar side chair form into a rocker with the addition of 14 extra legs. His “woodworks” table uses incorporates a subtle wood grain motif on the glass top – created via an engraving to the glass core. Little quirks like these give Schick’s furniture a nice sense of humor. (Via DesignBoom).
