Blaak Homme Tote Bag

blaak homme tote bag Blaak Homme Tote Bag
As Louis Vuitton demonstrates, using a company logo as a design can look cheap. Blaak Homme avoid the LV effect by using the logo sparsely. Another problem with totes is that some don’t have any means of cover at the top of the bag, making them useless when it rains. Blaak’s tote has two buckles at the top, making sure that no rain will creep through to what’s in the bag. Get it from Farfetch.

Eames Wire Chair

Designed in 1951, the Wire Chair from Charles and Ray Eames rose from a challenge to provide well priced, lightweight and durable furniture. Bent wire proved their structural answer, and the form was born. Herman Miller produced the chairs consistently until 1967 and then reintroduced them in 2001. The firm still offers them, with both a leather cushion and as a simple wire only affair. (Via Private).

The cushioned version of the Eames Wire Chair can be viewed after the jump.

Topman have released images of their upcoming Spring/Summer 2009 Lens collection – the ongoing collaboration between Topman and young designers. Added to their roster this season is James Long, who had previously just featured in Topman’s MAN show at Fashion week. His colllection for that show was stolen just hours after the catwalk presentation and hasn’t been recovered – although anyone wearing it should be easily noticeable.

Returning designers include Carolyn Massey, Mjolk, Kasper Harup-Hansen and Dexter Wong. Long’s contribution is rather short compared to the other’s additions, with only two bags in his Lens collection. See the rest of the Lens collection after the jump.

Wallpaper* reports (and has a tidy guide) of the gallery exchange program launching between Paris and Berlin. The idea is pretty basic, 12 Parisian Galleries have been twinned with a Berlin counterpart. They will share their wares in the German city until January 18 and then the shops from Berlin will descend on Paris from February 6 to 15, 2009. The affair has been set up by the French Embassy in Germany. It should be noted that all galleries participating specialize in contemporary.

Clare Tough handmade patchwork cardigan

clare tough knitted cardigan Clare Tough handmade patchwork cardigan

Women’s wear designer Clare Tough made a rare foray into men’s fashion with this heavy duty handmade cardigan. Although the season for cardigans as heavy as this is passing, we can’t look past the amount of work that would have gone into creating a patchwork piece like this. The zip makes it a passable spring jacket, although it wouldn’t be of any help should it rain. Get it from Antonioli.

Aquascutum are typically a very stern, very British brand. Their pieces might show one or two flashes of flamboyance, but they were never came anywhere near being extravagant. That’s why these moccasins stand out from the crowd. Mixing the tasselled part of a loafer with the traditionally more European moccasins, they’ve created something of a unique shoe. Get it from The Corner.

We showed you the suede and leather boot from Timberland Boot Company not too long ago, but how about a preview of the Spring 2009 shoe collection? As great as boots are in the winter, you feet surely would enjoy a break from the compressing warmth in April and May. The lightly tanned leather loafers and chukkas (do they count as a boot) take the prize for great looks. Horween premium leather graces almost all the shoes in Timberland Boot Company Collection, giving them a premium feel and look.
