Dazed Digital | Kanye West Interview

kanye west inauguration ball Dazed Digital | Kanye West Interview

Dazed Digital caught up with Kanye West at the launch of his Louis Vuitton collaboration and asked him a few questions about how he got into fashion, his aspirations as a designer and how his LV collab came about. When asked about how he got into fashion West replied:

“I picked out my own clothes when I first went to kindergarten and there’s no turning back since. And I’ve always been into clothes and I’ve always been into myself. And none of that’s changed since I’ve become a celebrity. It’s just allowed me to be more into myself and more into clothes!”

We must commend Mr West for his fine taste in blogs. Read the full interview over at Dazed Digital.

Tiga for Ksubi Eyewear Frames

tiga for ksubi sunglasses Tiga for Ksubi Eyewear Frames

TIGA’s first big musical hit came with his version of Corey Harts 80’s hit “Sunglasses at Night” back during the early days of the “Electroclash” movement. Today, with the help of Australia’s Ksubi, he re-invents sunglasses again in the form of an eyeglass frame. Black in color and unique in shape, TIGA has the following to say on the look.

“I hate sunglasses, they get between me and the sun…. but if I wore them they would be like the ones I hand-designed for ksubi….the arms are specially engineered to support any ear size, the “glasses” part aren’t even glass, but a hyper-modern plastic lens that rarely falls out and when it does can be popped back into place they are black and absorb heat leaving your nose and face extra cool.”

Personally, I like the look of TIGA for Ksubi. Fits in with my dark side.

Alexander McQueen Skull T-Shirt

We’ve featured Alexander McQueen’s SS09 collection a couple of times now, but this skull print tee is too good to go without mention. Graphic print tees aren’t exactly hard to come by but the picture used is absurdly detailed and the print is large enough to appreciate the effort that would have gone into creating it. It’s available in grey and white and you can get it from Liberty.

New from Design Within Reach is a kitchen. A departure from their usual product line (primarily reproduction mid-century icons), the firm worked with designer Nilus de Matran on the project. His thought was to utilize modular pieces to best draw the kitchen space into the dinning room. The kitchen can now be ordered from DWR’s SoHo Studio.

jm weston code 222 shoes J.M Weston Limited Edition Code 222 shoes

GQ Style Spy turns us onto these J.M Weston limited edition code 222 shoes. They’re called the code 222 because that’s the amount of stages of preparation that J.M Weston go through. GQ reports:

“The futuristic-sounding Code 222 is a handmade hybrid of two traditional styles, the Oxford and the Derby, and each pair is individually numbered on a leather window in the lining, while your initials are discreetly inscribed under the tongue to put a personalised spring in your step.”

To get these, you’ll have to go to the London flagship store, where they’ll set you back £1,150.
