The growing trend for vintage feel accessories continues with Marc Marmel’s SS09 collection. The secret to Marc Marmel’s vintage look is in the treatment. It’s hard to be mad at anyone who’s grown tired of check patterns by now. It’s grown from a seasonal trend to a phenomenon that’s forced designers to bring back any pattern that isn’t check – even bringing a mini-revival of polka dots. Grenson’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection sees the classic brand experiment with colours whilst keeping the classic shapes they’re known for. The main difference between this and their winter collection is that the majority of the shoes come unlined, making them lighter for summer. “Voix de Ville” is the title of the Spring 2009 Collection from San Francisco’s Nice Collective. Fashionisto correct in describing the line as “transmit[ing] an uncharacteristic ominous, but striking vibe.” There is a well worn wear to the collection that should not be confused with distressed. Fits are slim to relaxed in the Nice Collective looks. Casual goodness.

Last night in Stockholm, Forum AID handed out their prizes for the best Nordic architecture, interior and product design. Some of the winners have previously been featured on this site. Some, like Danish architecture firm BIG, have not. (Via DB).

American workwear activist, Michael Williams, brings us some first looks at the Wolverine Boot Heritage Collection coming soon to doors near you. “Maybe there is hope for classic American brands. Wolverine, the 125+ year old boot maker, is launching a heritage collection this coming fall with a selection of boots made right in one of Wolverine’s U.S. factories…The boots are made from beautiful leather, have good detailing and are in classic shapes. I love it when a company keeps it simple and falls back on its roots for inspiration.”

Men.style comes through with a look at the Umit Benan Autumn/Winter 2009 collection for men. As Mr. Peskowitz descirbes, “Benan created an eponymous line of menswear that is (like his face once was) proudly rough on the outside.
