Objects great and small for both the home and public space from Eosmexico. Of note is the creative solution to gallery seating, which while not a hot topic is certainly a contested one.  Lighting from Eosmexico has some charm as well. (via Industrial Design Served).

Five Four Spring 2009 Preview

five four spring summer 2009 front Five Four Spring 2009 Preview

For those following the ups and down of the economic crisis we’re in today, you may have read the very revealing article on Los Angeles based Five Four Clothing in the WSJ a few weeks back. We took away a few points from story. 1. the economy is touching everyone and 2. do everything you can to help out your supply and retail chains. The latter being the most important as the spiral will not stop unless everyone does their part to work towards a solution. We may commend Five Four on working hard to refocus their business from production to pricing, but at the end of the day, the strength is in the design of their garments.

Dig into these view of their Spring/Summer 2009 collection. It’s menswear that transitions nicely from the streets to the office at a friendly price-point.

45rpm gauze check shirt front 45rpm Gauze Check Shirt

A nice piece of picnic camouflage from the great 45rpm Japan line. This red check gauze shirt is made from double lined organic cotton and includes a single check pocket. The gauze name comes from the weaving technique in the garment that gives it a slightly stretchy feel. Super soft and ready to wear.

edifice for schott jacket 01 Edifice for Schott Denim Jacket

Edifice continue their stellar collaborations, this time joining up with Schott for these denim biker jackets. We’ve seen a huge number of denim jackets over the last few seasons, but this is the first time we’ve seen denim used in this manner and to this effect. Like most Edifice collabs, it’ll also only be available in Japan so you’ll need a proxy to get your hands on this.

Take a look at more pictures of the jacket after the jump.

lou dalton autumn 2009 01 Lou Dalton Autumn/Winter 2009

Lou Dalton has been on the rise for a while now and this AW09 collection is demonstration why she’s a name to look out for. This collection is inspired by British country clothing, mixed with a more youthful vibe. The result is cable knit and (surprisingly wearable) cut hole jumpers, trousers, chinos and jodphurs, oversized scarves and brooches. Take a look at the rest of the collection after the jump.

Check prints are over. That’s the main thing that can be taken from B Store’s AW09 collection, which was shown yesterday at London fashion week’s MAN day. The collection had a distinctly Parisian vibe, with polka dots and stripes being the patterns of choice. Some of the nicer touches included a plain shirt with polka dot collars and cuffs, a wide roll neck jumper and an abundance of cropped trousers. Take a look at more of the collection after the jump.

black fleece brooks brothers Black Fleece By Brooks Brothers

Since we like very much the designer Thom Browne, we obviously also appreciate his range for Brooks Brothers under the Black Fleece label. Today we came across a fantastic piece out of the new Spring/Summer 2009 Collection – the rugby shirt. This might be the smartest looking ruby shirt that we have seen to date. The striped shirt collar and button line, buttons on the cuffs and the overall choice of colors and patterns just works on the piece! Image via Honeyee.

rag and bone fall winter 2009 preview 6 Vegas Shows | Rag & Bone Autumn 2009 Preview

A few final looks from Las Vegas last week. Take a look at some of the accessories, footwear, and jackets coming from Rag & Bone. We love the tailoring on their hooded grey wool jacket which complements their day tote very well. The detail in the leather strapping and grey finish are well done.  Check their lo-top sneakers (above) as well for some quick hits in subtlety. (photos: Michael Savant)

vael project footwear fall 2009 preview 1 Vegas Shows | Vael Project Autumn 2009 Preview

It’s footwear day so it would seem. Here are some looks from the forthcoming Autumn 2009 collection from Vael Project. New calf high boots enter the mix. Stuff that denim inside the boot or fold down the leather for a more relaxed baggy feel. Note that the far right boot was worn by Vael Project’s head designer, Coleman Horn, for weeks to give you an idea of how natural wear will break them in. (photos: Michael Savant)
