Peter Jensen Red Check Jacket

peter jensen check jacket Peter Jensen Red Check Jacket

Peter Jensen isn’t quite a household name yet, although his Fred Perry collab is doing a good job of raising his profile. The London based designer, who showed his AW09 collection on a couple of days ago, has some pretty cool SS09 pieces, such as this hooded check jacket. It’s perfect for the summer, doesn’t have an overbearing check pattern and looks like it could have been part of the Fred Perry collab. Get it from Farfetch.

New Dandyism have these great close up shots of Prada’s AW09 footwear, which unveil some interesting detailing. The first thing that stands out is the trainer tongue used on all of the shoes, which adds a new feel to it and will make the shoe more comfortable to wear. There’s also a pair of laceless oxfords, which are pretty similar to the Patrick Ervell/Common Projects shoe that was shown at New York Fashion Week. Take a look at the rest of the shoes after the jump.

Richard Chai is the latest designer to take over ODIN’s single brand concept shop, DEN, in NYC. “The Den space reflects a minimal and architectural approach, one that parallels the Richard’s design sensibility.  The installation will carry a large part of his Men’s Spring 09 collection that was presented in Paris along with some new and exclusive pieces cut specially for the store.  In addition to the men’s collection will be a small capsule of Richard Chai womenswear, which features such signature design elements as French seaming, arc details, and refined tailoring. Also showcased in Richard’s installation will be the artwork of his friend, artist Daniel Peddle. His collages, created from found and recycled papers serve as the backdrop for the store.”

London’s Globe-Trotter showcased their fine line of hand made luxury luggage and accessories last week in Las Vegas.  There is something timeless about their luggage. The pieces come off as modern day classic and are easily recognizable by their strappings that wrap their luggage. They also continue to show their “One Hundred and Ten” carbon fiber and kevlar suitcase as part of their 110th anniversary celebration. Check the image of the business card holder (above). Loving it.

C’N'C Costume National previewed their Autumn/Winter 2009 menswear collection last week in Las Vegas. We spent some time looking through their line in hopes of finding some color for the coming Fall – as many collections remained grey and dark. Our editors appreciated the hooded blazers, oversized collar letterman jackets, and just about everything C’N'C’ was throwing down. (photos: Michael Savant)

Vegas Shows | Palladium Footwear Autumn 2009 Preview

palladium footwear 04 Vegas Shows | Palladium Footwear Autumn 2009 Preview

Here is a quick preview of the Palladium Autumn 2009 collection. For those not familiar with the legendary French footwear line, Palladium was once the boot of choice for the French Foreign Legion and was worn by by the fashion savvy or Europe and beyond. Palladium saw their quiet period begin towards the beginning of the 90’s, but now, under the K-Swiss umbrella, looks to regain fans (both old and new) of the slouchy boot look. We’re told new manufacturing processes has helped not only increase production of their three main silhouettes - a low, hi-top, and fold-over hi – but has drastically reduced the entry price for these shoes. Expect them to be priced competitively next to Converse and the like. More to come from Palladium. (photos: Michael Savant)

Fans of Raf Simons will want to review his Autumn 2009 collection for Fred Perry. Simons has gone full throttle on the use of metals and shimmer to accentuate the famous Fred Perry “Laurel.” Look for wears made from a knit combination of twisted metal yarns, polos with woven large gauge metals used to highlight the “laurel,” and metallic bags. Metal does not suck. Look for the collection later in the year. (photos: Michael Savant)
