An interesting new leather jacket is coming from Rick Owens. The Funnell Leather Jacket has a short fit and a black/white fading on the upper. We enjoy most the collar on the jacket, which gives it a completely different look from what you are used to see out there.

“Leather is intentionally distressed with cracks and tears naturally occurring at the waist.

Arms are full black with a ribbed knit cuff, neck is an exaggerated funnel. There are four external pockets, each with a nylon pull tag and two internal pockets close with a zip.”

The Rick Owens Funnell Leather Jacket is now available at Oki-Ni.

We received a quick preview of a letterman jacket from a new sportswear line of 50’s inspired looks – Whitesville. There is not much information we can give on the line at this time, but they are coming from a well known Japanese denim house and should be available outside of Japan. More to come. We promise.

(capsule) show provided us with the opportunity to check out YMC’s Autumn 2009 collection. The London based company, showed a wide range of casual shoes in a variety of colors and patterns. YMC really nailed their dress/formal shoes this season. Leaving no stone unturned, their suede boot with lace up front and a side zip, as well as a “desert boot” inspired shoe that round out the collection nicely.

Sugarcane’s Buzz Rickson line shows their latest parka from the “William Gibson” Collection at (capsule) show Las Vegas this week. It’s a true banger of a parka. Putting aside the sheer weight of the jacket, we look to the details such as the coyote fur lined hood, stitching, and the overall abundance of storage. You could very well carry your life to a distant planet in the parka. Look for it through select retailers later in the year.

Shades of Greige’s debuted their first collection of suits and bags for Autumn/Winter 2009 at (capsule) show in Las vegas this week. The bags feature both a quilted texture as well as a basket weave, something we are seeing a lot of for the upcoming season. Their suits take on a fresh perspective with interesting pocket placement and patterned linings. All easy to wear, these suits have the versatility to pull apart and mix in with other aspects of your wardrobe.  On the knitwear front the collection pulled off some oversized, chunky cable knit pullovers beautifully. While the collection was relatively neutral with lots of grays and blacks they mixed it up with some deep red plaids and navy blues as well.

Petit Bateau is the ultimate basics label out of France and has been around for many years, known for their quality t-shirts and fleece basics. Kitsuné teamed up with them to produce a simple v-neck t-shirt. It features a collaborative tag and small print on the chest and is now available in two colorways at colette for a reasonable price tag of 35 Euros.

We like the new Anti Exposure Parka by Nom de Guerre. It features some solid technical features, yet does not look that way and has an overall casual look. Its the perfect spring jacket when on your bike or just walking around in mixed weather conditions. It is now available at End.

Although their high tops get all the attention, the other pieces of Diet Butcher Slim Skin’s collection is pretty covetable as well. Take these leather jackets for instance. They have a definite Rick Owens-esque quality about them but the colours immediately making them something Owens himself would never design. The jacket is slim-fit and silk lined, making them more appropriate for the early days of spring.

Jason Denham, who got his start working for Joe Casley-Hayford, has made these limited edition denim bags. There are three bags in this collection, called the ‘Steamer’, the ‘Banker’ and the ‘Organiser’. The steamer (pictured below the jump) is based on the original Louis Vuitton steamer bag, which was created in 1901. The Banker is based on an original 1944 USA banker cash carry bag and the organiser is based on WWII air force pilot’s map carry case.

These bags are only available from Denham’s Amsterdam store.
