Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2009 Bags

raf simons bags Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2009 Bags

It’s easy to forget that Raf Simons still makes accessories for his own brand, given the sheer number of accessories collaborations he’s been doing lately. These square-ish bowling style bags come in a ridicously shiny (we can’t overstate this, this bag could actually be used as a makeshift mirror) patent leather and much more subdued black.

These are available from The Corner.

Check after the jump for detailed pictures.

Marc Quinn For Lucien Pellat-Finet

lucien pellat finet 1 Marc Quinn For Lucien Pellat Finet

French designer Lucien Pellat-Finet, known for his cashmere creations, has worked with artist Marc Quinn in his Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. Marc Quinn is part of the YBA (Young British Artist) group, alongside Damien Hirst.

The art of Marc Quinn was applied to cashmere sweaters for both men and women, as well as to towels in the new Lucien Pellat-Finet Spring/Summer 2009 Collection.

We think the collaboration works well on the towel, for a sweater it might be a little extreme, at least it is for us.

More images of the collaboration follow after the jump.

Monocle March ‘09 Fashion Spread | On The March

Today we picked up the new Monocle March 2009 issue and their fashion spread this time is just perfect. Having in mind the rainy days that lie ahead of us within early Spring, Monocle smartly mixes technical outerwear with classic workwear and casual fashion. We have absolutely nothing to complain on these outfits and love the mix of Japanese brands (Visvim, North Face Purple Label, Needles) and US and European brands (Woolrich Woolen Mills, Brooks Brothers, etc). The tote bags come from Bottega Veneta and also look great.

Have a look at more images of the Monocle March ‘09 fashion spread, entitled “On The March”, after the jump.

Capsule Show LV | F-Troupe Autumn/Winter 2009 Footwear

Showing for the first time in the U.S., England’s F-Troupe presented at (capsule) this week. We got a look at their Autumn 2009 collection that will be available at Opening Ceremony, among others, come late Summer. The standouts are the faux fur lined, leather boots with zipper detail up the back or a buckle across the top. With almost moccasin like tendencies, the sole has a white thread stitch that appears to have been hand sewn and makes a bold statement against black leather. The line also featured a few pairs of a cream colored suede sneakers with contrasting bold colors on the sole and laces as well as brightly colored basket weave suede high-tops that walk the line between a boot and a sneaker.

Capsule Show LV | Our Legacy Autumn/Winter 2009

Sweden’s favorite son, Our Legacy, previews their Autumn/Winter 2009 collection at (capsule) show in Las Vegas. Describing their collection as a line that looks to have come out of your grandfather’s closet with modern tailoring, Our Legacy focuses in on the classic pieces – turning them into modern day wears via refined fits and cuts. Knits are the marquee pieces, though our favorite is the basket weave on their denim patch and the hemp based button down. Nice work.

Caspule Show LV | Lone Wolf Boots from Sugarcane

Sugarcane and Co. Japan showed in the U.S. for the first time at (capsule) show in Las Vegas this week. With their first showing, Sugarcane introduces Lone Wolf Boots, a collection of leather and suede boots inspired by the rugged construction of American workwear. The standout feature in the Lone Wold Boot is the “Cat’s Paw” rubber sole which is made from “new old stock” soles made during the 50’s. We’re promised by Lone Wolf reps that the rubber is as good now as it was then. It is this collaboration between a modern boot company and their vintage U.S. material suppliers that creates a tough yet streamlined aesthetic with a throwback feel. All Lone Wolf Boots are American made.

A very young line basics line from Japan showing at (capsule) show in Las Vegas is Fil Melange. Fil Melange is offering cotton and cashmere t-shirts, under garments produced in Japan of the highest quality. The cashmere goods are some of the softest basics we have seen but do not be fooled. The pricepoint itself is not soft. You pay for what you get with Fil Melange, and that is pure quality. Be sure to also check their small line of highly structured denim that looks to complement the Fil Melange collection.

sealup coats 1 Sealup Coats

With the weather getting a little warmer again, it is time to be looking at the perfect Spring coat. Italian brand Sealup comes right to mind. They have been producing high quality raincoats since 1935, when the brand was founded in Milan. Classic jackets, from duffle- to trenchcoats, matched with sharp Italian tailoring makes the brand stand out and once again its all about the details, setting Sealup apart. The coats are still today 100% made in Italy in their own factory.

Take a look at some of our favorite Sealup coats after the jump.
