The Upgrader | Blue Collar Beers

miller The Upgrader | Blue Collar Beers

In our Boston offices, we drink two things: Bourbon (all varieties) and Miller High Life. High Life is well beyond being a beer of the rich and famous – it is a staple beverage that quenches thirst with the snap of champagne, with a little less alcohol. Men.style’s “The Upgrader” believes there are other options in the “Blue Collar Beer” category. (photo: flickr)

We think they’re out of their minds. Kempt does too.

But if you really need to drink something other than a Miller High Life, feel free to browse this handy dandy guide. Good luck.

  1. Olympia is a great option. Blatz is not. If any of you meet me in person I will tell a good Blatz story. Not great for public consumption. Additionally, it is odd not to represent such great brews as Wisconsin Club, Duffer and the other true blue collar beers that sell for $4.99 a case. All in all, this list could not be more obvious.

What of the craft beers that are designed to sneak into this market?

  2. 9 out of the 14 beers on the Upgrader list are produced by Pabst Brewing Company (http://www.pabstbrewingco.com/portfolio/default.aspx). I\’m not sure what that means, but it seems like a very high percentage.
