Earlier on we should images of the Marc Newson designed lounge for Qantas in Sydney. Transferring his aesthetic from the ground to the sky, Newson has also worked on airplane interiors for Qantas’ A380s. IconEye discussed the work with Newson. The chat hits on what bothers Newson in the air and bringing glamor back to the aircraft.
More images of the interiors after the jump.

This is so good.. the absolute restraint in design is to be applauded.. I could see easily how this project could have gone over the top; some Karim-Rashidification of the interior.. Newson understated the elements into a mellow environment without putting too much ego into the mix.. nice..
Many are trying to bring the glamour back into the airplane, because lets face it, the times when it was about glamour we have never seen. When I know I have to get into an airplane again, I really do not look forward to the actual trip. Too time consuming, stressful, etc. Aside from personal space in the plane, I think there is much more that can be done before getting into the plane to make the trip more comfortable.
i’m pretty sure all this looks a lot better onboard
