04. Contrail bicycle chalk drawing concept

“Contrail is a concept bicycle device that attaches above the wheel of a bike and covers the bicycle wheel with a layer of chalk. The chalk then creates a trail or mark on the surface of the road, turning the bike into a sort of large drawing utensil. The concept, developed by Pepin Gelardi of Studio Gelardi.” (Doobybran)

05. Happy Birthday, Little People!

The TSE Cashmere line was founded by Augustine Tse in 1989 as an outlet to bring focus on the luxury yarns of the world. “This beautiful raw material had been used very one-dimensionally, was very expensive, and was perceived to be reserved for only the elite.” Tse changed that view by outfitting looks for everyone including men.

Designer Jens Fager envisions his “Raw” series as a rough interpretation of iconic pieces of furniture. All the pieces are hand carved with a buzz saw, generating a unique look with each. On top of that, they are painted in striking color from yellows to bright blues. The “Raw Table” is one of the newer portions of the collection, and in the legs evidence of the rough carving are clear. Fager’s designs are produced by Muuto. (via David Report and Curated).

Opened in 2008, Dasha Zukhova’s Center for Contemporary Culture in Moscow is now hosting its second exhibition. Highlighting the collection of Francois Pinault the exhibition is tauted as the most important showing of contemporary art to ever grace Russian soil. And, the reason is good, Pinault is top dog of the art world (according to ArtReview). Paul McCarthy, Jeff Koons and Cindy Sherman are among the names represented. (via Wallpaper*).

The exhibition runs until June 14, 2009.
