I love this video – a must see. Fascinating. Oasis’ leader singer, Liam Gallagher is set to launch his own clothing line, Pretty Green, in the very near future. Named after a title track from The Jam, Mr. Gallagher states, “The reason I’m doing it is I like clothes. We’re going to do clothes I like, if people like it cool if they don’t, they don’t!.. It’s not going to be cheap…I don’t like the skinny look.” More to come on this one.

Register on Pretty Green for exclusive pre-sale announcements.

Once again we take a look at the new Monocle Fashion spread for this forthcoming season. The magazine manages to keep hitting our taste when it comes to their choice of brands with their April 2009 Spring spread. The light in this month’s shoot is beautiful and gives the images a very warm feel. Brands featured in the shoot are Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers, Tomorrowland, Visvim, Hollywood Range Market, Traditional Weather Wear, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Sacai, Tod’s, Gucci, John Smedley and more.

The shoot nicely presents outfits that are perfect for current times, just before heading into a warm summer. Lightweight jackets, t-shirts, classis sneakers, boat shoes, blazers and more.

Take a look at the other images from the Monocle April ‘09 Fashion Spread after the jump.

The “Original Baltimore” Antique Arms Show

gunshow front The Original Baltimore Antique Arms Show

This weekend the “Original Baltimore” Antique Arms Show hits the charm city. While violence isn’t our thing, there is no denying that antique firearms are, at times, dazzling. Of particular interest is the way the Kentucky rifle worked to spread the Chippendale style west far after its vogue in eastern cities had vanished. Add to that, the show itself is a dizzying piece of Americana in its own right. 1000s of dealers. The finest gathering of Antique Arms dealers in the World. I’ve been told this by enthusiasts and antiques aficionados alike for years, and in 2009 I think my time to check it out has come.

Buck have an interesting interview up with Mark Eley, focusing on his Eastpak collaboration. The interview reveals where the famous print came from, the resurgence of backpacks and his blog tips:

Dinosaurs and robots, highsnobiety… We were possibly one of the first fashion labels to do a blog. I try not to blog too much about work, it just opens us up and we want to motivate people to do nice work. If they can see that we’re down to earth and realistic with what we do, instead of living some glorious avant-garde lifestyle.”

Details | Rick Owens’ Rules of Style

rick owens details Details | Rick Owens Rules of Style

Rick Owen’s rules of style won’t shock anyone. They’re more interesting than last month’s mundane rules, but they still wouldn’t shock anyone like say the old provacateur Tom Ford did. It does pose a few surprises though, such as the info that Rick Owens doesn’t like any type of accessories, even sunglasses.

“I hate rings and bracelets on men. I’m not a fan of man bags, or girl bags either—or even sunglasses. I don’t like fussy accessories. Isn’t it more chic to be free? Every jacket I make has interior pockets big enough to store a book and a sandwich and a passport.”

Timezone reports in with more pre-Baselworld goodies with Bell & Ross Instrument BR Heritage collection. In particular is the BR 01-92 Heritage model based on the fighter plane cockpits from the 1940’s. The model features a extra larger 46mm casing and is finished with black dials and index marks.
