Like many, I have way too many jackets in my collection. It’s the easiest thing to pull and wear as they’re immediate and forward facing. The new BMW Museum opened in Munich back on June 21, 2008. Completing a trio of brand-focused activities (with a factory tour and the BMW Welt), the museum sets new standard for automotive museums. Forme D’Expression (aka Forme 3’3204322896) have given us a look at their Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. The collection looks to continue the signature look of tailored leather jackets and crumpled pieces and have expanded that aesthetic by introducing artfully worn-in coats and jeans. While jeans haven’t really gone out of style since the 90’s, denim jackets and shirts haven’t been in style for a good minute. That seems to be changing this year as denim jackets are even being made by high street retailers. This Kato jacket’s worn-in look will help avoid any bandwagon-jumper accusations that might be thrown your way. We don’t feature Uniqlo’s mainline pieces much here at Selectism, everyone knows about Uniqlo’s quality and value, so what’s the point in us going on about it?. But this check parka is so good we thought it warranted special attention. If you’ve been suitably inspired by Patrik Ervell’s shows then this is the perfect piece to wear with chinos and an oxford. It’s also an actual bargain rather than a relative one at £30. Get it from Uniqlo.

Better known for their high end moccasins racing shoes, Italian shoe maker Tod’s introduces this season their new canvas sneaker. The silhouette looks similar to the Lanvin low top sneaker and many other low top sneakers from high end fashion houses. Nevertheless we like their new model, which comes in canvas with suede detailing. Tod’s has always been a brand that one could rely on in terms of quality and style. With their sneaker line-up needing an update, this new style comes just at the right time.

WATM reports in on the new concept store teaming Jack Spade and Jimbo the Mechanic. “Jack Spade has teamed up with Jimbo the Mechanic, Rapha cycling gear, and Landmark Bikes to create Jack and Jimbo’s Bike Shop.  The 600 square foot store will feature select pieces from the renowned Rapha cycling collection…and vintage bicycles from Landmark Vintage Bicycle Shop…The other side of the store will be filled with seasonal Jack Spade product including bags, accessories, and an edited selection of ties, outerwear, and apparel.” (photo theshophound)
