jil sander blazer Jil Sander Bi Colour Blazer

If you’ve been paying any attention to women’s fashion, you’ll no doubt have heard of ‘colour blocking’, this jacket is a fine example of colour blocking at it’s finest. Blocking has been on the outskirts of men’s fashion for a while now, with plenty of designers getting it wrong. If there’s more pieces like this, we might just see this trend move to the forefront. Get this from Oki-Ni.

Thom Browne denies cash flow problems

thom browne ad Thom Browne denies cash flow problems

The news that went round the internet yesterday was that Thom Browne was nearing bankruptcy and that financial backers didn’t want to go near his label as they feared it was a fad. The cut lets us know that Mr Browne has sought to kill those rumors, stating he’s nowhere near bankruptcy – although he would like a financial backer for growth reasons. He also went on to say that ten new stores in Europe and Japan had picked up his range and that wholesale business was up 117 percent. Sounds pretty healthy to us. [Via The Cut & WWD]

A great new summer cap is coming from Japanese brand waste(twice) – the Rail Roader. They chose some nice materials for the caps and the silhouette certainly feels refreshing amongst all the others. Made from 100% linen they are perfect for the warmer days that lie ahead. The caps are now available from AnoutCommune.

Oh, Mr. Williams, how do you scoop the world of American heritage? ACL gets caught showing their love for Filson and Urban Outfitter’s continued ability to channel the power of the now with this collection of bags collaborating the brand and store nicely. “The partnership consists of a limited run of canvas bags that were made especially for Urban Outfitters in the special color ways. Launching in mid-April in selected cities (New York, LA, etc.) the special styles will be priced at $205 for the small duffel and $129 for the zipper tote.” Very well done.

Thanks to Men’s Rag, I now have to contemplate another dosh digger. N.D.C’s Made by Hands Accessories for Spring/Summer 2009 have me asking – how many more bags do I need? Clearly more. The leather wide brief, is finished with wave stained leather that is not to be confused with a religious shroud. The shoe shine kit is finished nicely in dark stain. Keep those brogues sharp.

LOVE Magazine’s blog brings us some photos and images of the Autumn/Winter 2009 Balmain collection. Founded by Pierre Balmain, the French fashion house styles their looks to showcase outerwear including a shearling lined leather parka, and fitted motorcycle jackets. But do me a favor and keep the shirts on the model.

Band of Outsiders Suspender Belt

band of outsiders suspender belt Band of Outsiders Suspender Belt

We love Band of Outsiders and appreciate their belt fashioned  with suspender closures. The striped finish on the belt fits well with grey and darker shade trouser. They’re made in the U.S.A. which is great but is it me or does this model resemble Liverpool and England striker Peter Crouch a little too much? Maybe if Band of Outsiders supplies the Brits with some suspender belts they’ll me more apt to qualify for the Euros this time around. What a loss that was… Pick up the Suspender Belt from Band of Outsiders at Forward.
