After watching the recommended surf docs, Bra Boys and Riding Giants this week, I was happy to discover these handmade wooden surfboards from RAYSKIN. As Bornrich puts it, “The company is committed to design and build aesthetically pleasing, artistic, performance surfboards. The RAYSKIN board is not just a splendid work of art, but it also scores well in terms of operations. The board easily builds momentum in the water and it ensures a very steady ride. Touted as the Rolls-Royce of the surf world, these custom-designed boards are meant for rich surfers.” At 8000$US they sure are. (luxist)

  1. Have to be a jack ass to spend $8K on a surf board. 9 out of 10 boards on the market are handmade. You can get a fully custom all-wood board from a top shaper for $2K max. Don’t believe the hype.

  2. JB:

Its art. Its worth what the market will bear. I’d be happy selling one for 8. Mark it 8.

  3. csnuts:

Jack ass indeed- that designer thinks that he can just chum up with some artist and call these boards his own- he’s a real punk. Dont bother with them. Their skate decks suck too.

  4. you guys/gals are just haters. why don’t you make your own, or don’t you have a creative bone in your body. put your energy towards something useful, make your own board
