01. Israel’s Prodigal Designer’s Most Interesting Watch

“Many of you may not be familiar with Itay Noy, but perhaps you should be.  He is a designer of the first order, he holds a BFA in jewelry design in addition a masters from the prestigious Design Academy Eindhoven in Holland.” (Hodinkee)

02. OMFG//

GIVENCHY.COM JUST POSTED IMAGES OF THEIR FALL/WINTER 2009 ACCESSORIES AND I COULD NOT THINK OF A MORE APPROPRIATE TIME TO SAY, “I DIE! I DIE! I DIE! AND I DIE AGAIN! BURY ME IN GIVENCHY”  I AM SAVING UP IMMEDIATELY!” #woah (Jak & Jil)

03. Riding the It Factor

“Like a Louis Vuitton trunk, it has a chic design and a patina of history stretching back to the 19th century. And like a bottle of San Pellegrino, it evokes that genteel way of life that Europeans are always going on about. (NYT)

04. Martin Margiela’s New Munich Store

Martin Margiela is always on top of the trends and when it comes to his store designs, they are simply art! I believe being a fan of Margiela’s collections goes hand in hand with loving their stores, I’ve been to bunch of them all over Europe…” (Trendland)

05. UK design student creates electric tribute to 1925 Sunbeam Tiger LSR car (above)

“While the original Tiger used a V12 engine to hit a record 145 miles-per-hour, Skelley hypothesizes that his new concept would use lithium titanate batteries to power an electric motor and get to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and reach a limited top-end of 160 mph.” (Autoblog)

World Trade Center Logos

curated mag - World Trade Center Logos

New York designer Ji Lee has launched an admirable project to collect and archive photographs of logos that incorporate the twin towers of the World Trade Center. Lee rightly believes this project is vital, as many of the small business won’t last forever. A site is up, wtclogo.com, where visitors can add to the growing collection.

Projects like this are important for collecting and preserving American ephemera and visual culture. Worth exploring too, there are some good finds. (via Dezeen).

Wrath Arcane Spring/Summer 2009

wrath arcane spring 2009 00 Wrath Arcane Spring/Summer 2009

Cleveland’s own Wrath Arcane drops their Spring/Summer 2009 collection. Look for details in the wears, such as the button treatments (see above), hidden zippers on hoodies, and the occasional leather holster. Check for double v-neck lines (ymmv), and space-dye fabrics – bronze. Get technical.

timberland front Interview with Timberland President Gene McCarthy

Our housemates, Curated, sat down with Timberland’s president, Gene McCarthy, to discuss the opening of their Nature of a City buildout in NYC. “On February 13, Timberland opened their newest storefront at 474 Broadway, New York City. The shop is designed to promote the Timberland experience, and in that venture they partnered withpowerHouse for an exhibition of photographs curated by Sara Rosen.”

PUMA City Lands in Boston

PUMA City is doing something with their 11,000 sq/ft container space that not many others have done. The idea of converting shipping containers into a retail space is not new. Switzerland’s Freitag’s did it back in 2006 with their Zurich shop, but unlike the Freitag experience, the PUMA City experience is mobile.

Created by Lot-Ek, 24 containers have been retrofitted and “transformed” into a mobile retail experience that is travelling city to city with PUMA’s Volvo Ocean Racing Team. Boston, my city, is the next stop on the tour. Three weeks of events are planned, so be sure to swing through Beantown. (photos via Evan Saunders/Flickr)

Han Eyewear Spring/Summer 2009

han eyewear frames spring summer 2009 00 Han Eyewear Spring/Summer 2009

Copenhagen’s Han Eyewear continues to make waves in the eyewear world. With their US domestic distribution still up in the air, those in Europe – specifically the UK, Germany, and Italy – can sit back and enjoy a level of exclusivity in frame wear. But trust me, when they hit my shores, things will really begin jump off.

For Spring/Summer 2009, Han is introducing two new frames – the Grad Danois and Harry. Grand Danois comes in Mahogany while Harry is produced in Tortoise only. Two limited edition colorways are also being produced for Grand Danois and their classic models, Timeless and Wolfgang. Look for those in special editions of forest green and grey in a matte finish.

Many more views of the forthcoming Han Eyewear Spring/Summer 2009 after the jump.

Martin Clothing Autumn 2009 Preview

martin clothing fall 2009 00 Martin Clothing Autumn 2009 Preview

We’ve been following the launch of the Martin Clothing line for some time now. As we mentioned before, Martin Clothing looks to provide high quality garments with cyclists in mind. While remaining fashion forward, the line also ensures details in their garments that cater to those who ride their bicycles. It really does come down to the little things. Their button downs have hidden pulls in the sleeve cuffs and magnet closures allow for the garments to remain “closed” and tight to form while riding while pants have reinforced inner thighs for durability.

We preview a few looks from the Martin Clothing Autumn 2009 Collection after the jump.

jil sander eyewear preview Jil Sander Autumn/Winter 2009 Eyewear Preview

We felt we should give a little taste of the AW09 Jil Sander eyewear collection that we have pictures of. The collection is, as you’d expect, ridiculously well made – with the frame being made out of good quality, sturdy wood. We’ll have the full mens collection up tommorow -  but for now just appreciate this pair.

Take a look at a close-up picture of the frames after the jump.
