FINN Book Cover

finn front FINN Book Cover

Travel can do some terrible things to a favored paper back. Yes, some people may believe the paper back disposable, but others cherish them as much as they do the fancier hardback. For those, the FINN protects your dearest possession. The FINN is an Alacantara cover that is highly customizable in size and shape. The material is designed to reveal its character over time and use. (via Industrial Design Served).

COS Navy Shorts

cos navy shorts COS Navy Shorts

Forgive us for our short fetish – but the sun is out pretty much all around the world and we’re thinking of our true summer outfits. We could waffle on about these COS shorts but sometimes less is more  – they’re the right length, a nice navy shade and are solidly made. Sometimes you can spend all your time looking to expand your wardrobe, but if you don’t have the basics right then you’re wardrobe isn’t worth much to start with. You can’t get this online, so you’ll have to make the trek to a COS store.

B Store Seersucker Shorts

b store seersucker shorts 01 B Store Seersucker Shorts

We did mention that B-Store’s SS09 collection was a great collection when it first appeared on catwalks, but now it’s starting to appear in stores we can specifically pick out the best pieces. These shorts are listed as simply striped shorts, but they look like seersucker shorts to us, so we’ll call it that. Like most B-store pieces, the devil’s in the details. The shorts are the perfect length – just above the knee, in case you didn’t know – and the fit is slim enough to suit most folks without being strictly for the emaciated. Get it from Farfetch.

Check after the jump for detailed pictures.

Julius T-Shirt

julius t shirt Julius T Shirt

Although it’s a long, long way from an original design, Alexander McQueen has pretty much claimed ownership of the Skull print on a t-shirt. We usually hate anyone else doing skulls on the tee but Julius do a pretty good version of it on the shirt pictured above. Apart from just looking good, the print also bleeds onto the neck line – which is a sign of quality in itself. Get it if you can from Mindtrive.

neil young 1959 lincvolt hybrid Selectism | Around the Web

01. Wallpaper* Retail Directory 2009

“The smell of burning plastic may be a little passé these days, but the fresh-paint aroma of a brand new shop is as enticing as ever. nd it’s not about instant gratification, either. Well, not entirely. We like to think of shopping as doing our bit for the global economy.” (Wallpaper*)

02. Neil Young’s 1959 Lincvolt Hybrid (above)

“It is not often that we get to combine our passion for music, good design, green technologies, and hot 1950’s classic vehicles, so we take any opportunity that we can get. Neil Young recently released his latest album “Fork in the Road”, which is dedicated to the Lincvolt project that transformed his classic Lincoln Continental into a hot zero emissions vehicle that gets 100mpg.” (Inhabitant)

03. Kaweco Acrylic Leadholders

“So what is a “leadholder”? My abbreviated nutshell summary is that they are simple mechanical holders for wide diameter leads. Wide usually means 2 millimeters (mm) or more. Today, there are three common wide lead diameters – 2mm, 3.15mm, and 5.6mm.” (Penciltalk)

04. Muji Water Bottle

“Why am I such a sucker for this stuff?  I could take any old bottle to the gym with me to fill with water but no, not me. I have just got to get me this water bottle from Muji.” (Ianclaridge)

Workers K&T H MFG Co. Lot32 Shirt

workers japan lot 32 shirt 00 Workers K&T H MFG Co. Lot32 Shirt

Workers Japan digs through the K & T H MFG Co. and discovers this great “Lot32 Shirt, Closed Front.” A gem from workwear of the past, Workers gets all the details right from the original, hitting every detail down to the last stitch. A very limited run of these were made available to the public due to the fabric run. I would hate to have to find a substitute to the Workers’ “real” thing.

gq russia spring yu tsai 4 Spring Editorial from GQ Russia

A nice editorial from GQ Russia featuring Eddie Klint and photographed by Yu-Tsai. The editorial brings a soft feel to “Easter” fashions that will work well throughout the season. Pink blazers are set against grey trousers and short pants. The whole shoot makes me wish I could escape this loft and head to the garden to enjoy the sun and a Bento box. (coutequecoute)

toffs front Toffs: The Old Fashioned Football Shirt Company

As there is a wild one going on at Stamford Bridge, we figured we’d give Jeff’s team a boost by reminding all of a few past kits. Above are the 1960 Friars Cup Away shirt on the right, and at left the 1955 League Champions shirt. Both are made by Toffs, who make shirts the old fashioned way. Come on Blues! Pull it out over ‘Pool, if only for Jeff.

Toffs offers a full range of English, continental, international, and even NASL tops. Examples from the world’s greatest club after the jump.
