Yves Saint Laurent Neckties

ysl neck ties Yves Saint Laurent Neckties

A good collection of neckwear is as important as a good collection of footwear. Like the wristwatch, it is a defining factor in your day to day wardrobe in the world of business. While a wristwatch can be worn over and over and remains iconic on your arm – wearing the same necktie day in and day out can become boring. Colette has stocked up on two flavors of neckties from YSL for the Spring and Summer. One of these looks should work well for you. I’m shooting for the blue for a summer wedding in Italy – nice.

While our bicycle preferences are traditional, it doesn’t stop us from noticing new thoughts, ideas, and odd product related to riding. The Solar Man Bicycle is one of those. A folding bike that is solar powered, so when you get tired the sun does the work for you. The bike is designed by Chen Weipeng. (via Yanko).

Robert Geller Spring/Summer 2009 Eyewear

robert geller eyewear sunglasses 01 Robert Geller Spring/Summer 2009 Eyewear

A nice wide collection of eyewear from Robert Geller for Spring and Summer. With my current need for new glasses, I think I’m drawn to the flat top of the Joseph model. They work well as shades as well. Traditionalists should consider the Marcello frame with it’s wayfarer like shape. I’l sold on the Joseph. Get them now from Roden Gray.

I, for one, think it’s high time to drop the carabiner and get back to a proper keygrip. Roden Gray has stocked up on batch from the Spring/Summer 2009 collection from Made by Eugene. Designed by Brazil’s Eugene Tsai, the accessories are “hand cut, tanned, and painted strap leather pieces with solid brass fixtures in either silver or gold finishes.” I’m sold on the Grappas.

Junya Watanabe Denim Shorts

junya watanabe denim shorts Junya Watanabe Denim Shorts

Junya Watanabe’s looks are always so wearabe (and we don’t mean that in a negative way) that we wonder why more people aren’t taking style cues from his shows. As his SS09 show demonstrates, his denim shorts can be to be used to an incredibly effective manner with a fisherman’s cagoule and some bucks. Get them from Browns.

Polo Ralph Lauren Quilted Jacket

Barbour-style quilted jackets are pretty big in the UK right amongst the trendsetters. It’s a style of jacket that can easily go wrong, but done right it can be a great look. The problem with some of the new Barbour items is that they’re starting to feature their name more prominently – which is a turn off for those who like their style to be anonymous. This Ralph Lauren jacket has no such problems as the only labels are on the inside. Get it from Start.

File Magazine

file magazine 02 File Magazine

Although magazines are falling at an alarming rate, there are still new magazines being launched. Take File magazine for example. The London based magazine focuses on graphic design and art. The magazine’s USP is that it comes with an accompanying DVD and is designed to be watched and read at the same time. Usually this would be a turn-off to us – we’ve seen far too many magazines with tacked on DVD’s – but this time they’ve clearly been designed in tandem and it makes for a very interesting way of doing things. At a time when men’s general interest magazines are dying out, maybe it’s time for magazines to really focus on doing something unique.

Take a look at more pictures of the magazine after the jump.

Selected Homme Spring 2009

selected spring summer 2009 runway front Selected Homme Spring 2009

I appreciate the modern take on the classics. It has something to do with wanted to look classic while not looking like my grandfather (who was a well dressed mason, I may add). I want my own look and my own personality. Selected Homme’s garments allow me to express that flavor. “The signature of SELECTED /HOMME is grounded in quality, potential and variation. It embraces diversity and combines coolness and class with edgy and rough details, challenging the man to take on his different characters and moods.” (fashonisto)
