More Jil Sander now as we give you their bag collection. The eagle-eyed among you would have spotted that the above bag uses the same pattern as one of the more memorable pieces from the AW09 runway show. This bag aside, the bags keep the general feeling of a person who means business. You couldn’t escape from the R word in last season’s reviews, but there’s no doubting that this collection was designed to be a staple in a person’s wardrobe rather than a folly.

Apple Corp Ltd. and EMI Music announced this morning from London that the entire original recorded catalog of The Beatles has been remastered for the first time for CD release. The release date is September 9, 2009 to coincide with the release of “The Beatles: Rock Band” video game the same day.

Someone needs to introduce Liam Gallagher to Peter Jensen. If Gallagher knew that there was already a designer making high quality parkas, he might stop wasting his time trying to make his own clothing line. The latest parka to come from Mr Jensen is this number, which is made of waxed cotton. As longtime readers will know, we’re big fans of anything that gets better as it ages and waxed cotton is one of those materials. Get it from Tres Bien.

Creative director Raf Simons has his fingers in many pies and it’s always amazing to see that he can keep all of his projects completely separate. While his own name label tends to be slightly youthful, the Jil Sander collection retains a mature dignity. These wallets are a world away from the crazier wallets we’ve seen lately and instead focus on form, quality and function – and it’s all the better for it.

Having seen the new Grey Goose packaging last week, it is refreshing to see something a little more inventive from 1000 Acres. The design is handled by Arnell, the firm founded in 1979 by Peter Arnell. Aside from the above, Arnell has worked with Pepsi, Fila, and Ray-Ban (and many others). (via Daily Icon).

Since their launch in 1987, Aesop has been producing “botanically based skin, hair, and body products for men and women.” The line, which began in Australia, has grown well into the European markets and beyond. Their latest flagship store, returns them to their Aussie roots with a store in Armadale. The shop, designed, “Paphitis in conjunction with Melbourne architect Ryan Russell,” makes use of light, colour and texture in rounding out the space. (yatzer)
