Tatras Jackets and Vests

tatras windbreakers 01 Tatras Jackets and Vests

We love these jackets and vest from Poland’s Tatras. The label has been outputting a range of outerwear since 2006 and this season’s are are strong as any windbreakers on the market. The nylon finish jackets are lightweight and perfect for the Springtime. They’re made in Poland. I find this worthy to note because I have an old pair of Adidas Speziale’s which were made in Poland back in 1989 and they still look good as new. Get them now from AR.

alexandre herchcovitch hint mag Q&A with Alexandre Herchcovitch

Hint Mag caught up with Brazilian deisgner Alexandre Herchcovitch during fashion week in Sao Paulo recently. The well done interview covers a variety of topics and includes insight into Herchovitch’s world. “I started my career as a designer by making clothes for drag queens (not being one of them), prostitutes and transvestites in São Paulo. I dressed the first and most famous Brazilian drag queen, Márcia Pantera. I’ve made more than 300 outfits for her, but today she has none of them.”

nyt savile row NYT | Tailored Spending | Savile Row Suits

With the depreciating British Sterling, NYT “The Moment” reports in on how the Dollar spenders are getting a great rate on some of Savile Row’s best. “However, the United States has offset some of the decrease in the English domestic market. ‘On our recent trip to New York, we saw more and more dentists, surgeons and lawyers who aren’t so affected by the financial crisis come to us,’ Cundey added. Stuart Lamprell, who has outfitted celebrities like David Beckham and Tom Cruise, concurs. His suits start at about $3,100, down from $4,400 a year ago.”

There is clearly no shortage for man totes in today’s world. In fact, the rise in men’s accessories proves time and time again that it is ok for you as a dude to rock a bag and feel comfortable. If you drive a Bentley, you might consider this matching trunk/foot well tote specially made for your vehicle by Dunhill. “The bag has special pockets which are designed to hold the Bentley key…The bag is made of Novillo calf leather in Bentley’s signature Beluga black with a red alcantara lining and feature the Bentley B on the zippers.” You better call your Bentley dealer ASAP as only 100 of these will be produced. Jessica Lack of the Guardian does a tremendous job with her artist of the week column. Though the chosen highlight might not always resonate, her simple descriptions are a valuable way of introducing large numbers of readers to new artists. This week, she’s chosen Emma Talbot whose haunting work is now on view at Gallery North, Northumbria University. The example above, Haunted House (2008) is a little easier to check out.

velour autumn 2009 01 Velour Autumn/Winter 2009

Velour have given us pictures of their upcoming Autumn/Winter 2009 collection and we have to say the collection is looking great. While some of their influences may be a little obvious (the Life Aquatic influence is one that swept people last year) the collection looks like it’ll have several covetable pieces. We also have to note that the model has more than a passing resemblance to Ziggy from The Wire and we hope that’s what got him the job.

Take a look at the collection after the jump.

Topman Chambray Barrel Bag

topman chambray denim barrel bag Topman Chambray Barrel Bag

Given Topman’s ubiquity in the UK – it’s practically part of the furniture over here – it’s almost bizarre to see the fuss being made over the US version of the store. However, with pieces like this Chambray bag, we understand why the US wants one so much. This bag acts as a perfect finishing touch to a denim-less look (say neutral coloured oxford and chinos) and will suit anyone who likes to splurge on other items in your wardrobe. Get it from Topman.
