Young designer Arndt Menke wrote his master’s thesis on how careful attention to woods natural retention, expansion, and anisotropic properties have design advantages. His writings led to tangible material experimentation with the Holzweg Wood Frame bike. The bike frame is completely produced of wood, and weighs in at 2.3 kg. Rather attractive too. (via Yanko).
