The JFK Chair was designed by Alexander Purcell. The chair launched last weekend at New York’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair, and is set to be released by LA based Aprro Design. Built of walnut, the chair is complemented with a range that includes bench, desk and side table. (via Daily Icon).
I do not cover many leather jackets on Selectism. Maybe it’s a personal thing – I tend to not work them properly, or rather, they do not work on me. But I should stop worrying about myself and just put some out there, starting with this Front Riders leather unit from Marka. The short waist leather jacket does not look broken in at the factory. In fact, it looks stiff, much like a new pair of denim. Wear it and make this Marka jacket all yours. Check the waist cinch. (wiseark)
I’ll say it again. We love Kitsuné. Their polo shirts are simple and casual wears marked with their unique iconic fox. A nice alternative to the big box polos you can pick up anywhere. Rock Kitsuné and represent the special ones. This is not your ordinary golf look. (ar)

While Church’s do seasonal collections, they also have a range of continuative styles that, as the name suggests, carry on all year round. Amongst the classy brogues, oxfords and loafers is this desert boot. The sole is sturdier than the usual crepe sole used on desert boots and because of this, it’s more adept for year round use. The suede upper would still mean than any rain (or worse, people stepping on your feet) is to be avoided. Look for Church’s AW09 collection later on this week.
We previewed a couple of Hackett’s AW09 accessories a few weeks back, but as the collections pretty stacked, we’ve still got plenty more to show you. This holdall is slightly sturdier than the tan one from Hackett as it was built with travel in mind. Frequent flyers will know how your luggage gets manhandled at airports, so this is an important feature. There’s also a number of matching pieces to this holdall, including a wallet, washbag and keyring which we’ll feature tommorow when we finally show the rest of the collection.
The way this post is viewed will depend entirely on where you live. If you’re in Asia, this may be one of the only times you can actually buy something we write about and if you’re not it’ll be another of those pesky items we put up that are just a massive tease. Whatever way you look at it this shawl collar Jacket is a great sand colour and will match with what most people already have in their wardrobes. Get it if you can from Style Cruise.
“Slip on a pair of our Soap knuckles and hurt some dirt. Casted from genuine brass knuckles this all natural glycerin soap is designed to add a bit of playful subversion to your soap dish. A great gift for the street tough germaphobe or hygienic hipster.” (spye)
03. WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE – CASEY STORM
“For those who grew up with Where the Wild Things Are, the film adaptation of Maurice Sendack’s renowned children’s book is an exciting prospect. I spoke to costume designer for the film Casey Storm to find out how those wild things were made.” (dontpanic)
04. The Giro d’Italia is Underway, and Dolce & Gabbana are there!
“So what does Dolce & Gabbana have to do with this? For this very exciting and historic year, they have redesigned The Giro’s most important symbol: the maglia rosa (”pink jersey”). The maglia rosa (above on Italy’s Danilo Di Luca, taken May 15th) is a pink shirt worn each day by the cyclist who had the fastest time the previous day.” (luxist)
05. LEGO USB Hub
This is actually great. Now I have a place to stand my LEGO minifig army of Mujahadeen fighters. (ggadgets)
I’ve been running with some denim myself while riding the bike. It’ probably not the best option as it does not give my special friends the breathability they need. Outlier does their best to change this with their Climber Pants that offer a slim fit look for cyclists everywhere. “The Outlier Climber pants are a full on reengineering of slim cut pants for a cyclists world. The innovative vertical yoke removes most of the traditional stress points that cycling generates in a garment, allowing for a free range of movement. The curved waistband is higher in the back to hide your crack from the world and lower in the front to allow you to lean forward and ride in comfort.”

Oki-ni has stock of these split toe ninja slippers from Ikitabi. Now, these are not the first split toes to make their mark on the Western footwear world. Recently, the Nike Air Rift, developed for Kenyan runners, received much love from sneaker aficionados in the UK and in small pockets of the USA. Here’s hoping Ikitabi can lure more folks to respect the ninja. Available in a variety of colors.

Japan’s Lad Musician Rafa Vests are special. Some would use them for laying your lazy hand into the high rise pockets rather than in your trousers. Others prefer the easy storage in the bulbs of the vest. We think they’re simply something different.
