A bit of inventive design that would make Nicey and Wifey smile. The authors of Nice Cup of Tea and A Sit Down certainly know a thing or two about that perfectly delicious duo – tea and biscuits. With that connection in mind, Dominic Skinner created the dunk mug, minimizing the need for pesky plates and bringing everything together in one gloriously simple object. Following on from the Navajo-themed mainline, April 77 Records have released their AW09 collection for all to see. Unsurprisingly for a music-based fashion offshoot, the influences are from different musical era – punk, grunge, skinhead, twin peaks and sailor, specifically. The styling in this shoot might be a little too vintage-dressing-Shoreditch-hipster for some, but we’re sure pieces in this collection could translate to any number of styles. We’re starting to hate the phrase ‘classics with a twist’ – but sometimes it’s the perfect way to describe a collection. Satykumar’s Autumn/Winter 2009 collection  features pieces most would say are perfectly boring – trench coats, bomber jackets and sweatshirts and adds something new to them by using unusual fabrics, making an almost avant garde piece using the most traditional of silhouettes. Baracuta have been coming back strong with collaborations with Junya Watanabe and, strangely, Oasis. Their resurgence in popularity can be linked to those who worship at the altar of iconic male movie stars – McQueen and the like. Like the Margaret Howell rucksack we featured yesterday, the only knock against the harrington jacket is that they can be a little boring. However, styled right they can take a new lease of life and make the reader look like he did more than copy an outfit from ‘Take Ivy’. Get it from Baracuta.

A nice navy blouson jacket from Moncler. It’s a nice non puffy version of a classic bomber with a fitted cut, and zip/button fly front finish. The hemline has a knit trim with white stripes. Mr. Williams skipped over to the latest J. Crew Men’s Shop buildout at 484 Broadway for a very personal tour of the new space. As Mr. Williams mentions, the new space is a bit less directional than the Liquor Store digs, but offers shoppers just as an expansive collection of goods as the former. “So basically, there are special items likeSuperior Labor tote bags, Alden shoes, staplers, Mister Freedom clothing and all of the basics that you have come to expect from J.Crew. A good combination if you ask me.”

TAG should get some love with the release of their Formula 1 Grande Date model.
