Flavio de Carvalho was a man of many talents. A pioneer of performance art, a painter with fauvist influence, and an dabbler in architecture, Carvalho is not particularly well known for his furniture design. He is, however, responsible for the FDC1 Armchair. Built of carbon steel with a leather seat and back, the armchair is part of his Capuava Ranch Project. (via Retro to Go).

goyard london Goyard Lands in London this Summer

Goyard branches out its highly sought after luxury line of goods to the UK via a new store opening this Summer in London. The London store will now sit prominently against a map of luxury cities including Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beverly Hills, and others. The Goyard brand is considered the icon in luxury and to many, as it’s presence has remained niche and highly elusive.

hiroshi tsbouchi buck shoes 00 Hiroshi Tsubouchi Super Bucks

When we source from the Japanese web players we usually pull out some exclusive Western made goods available from these Eastern outlets. This time we put the spotlight on a pair of super buck shoes from Hiroshi Tsubouchi. They come from his Spring/Summer 2009 collection and feature a prominent blue shade against the classic buck form. We dig and definitely dig their loafers. (museumark)

Site supporter, The Bureau sent over images of a new range of shoes developed by Trickers for their shop. The Bureau mentions, “The first is our take on the saddle shoe. Made in “Marron” calf with the saddle contrasted in “Marron” scotch grain and finished it of with a danite sole” while the second, “is inspired by old pair of “wegens” that we had worn in our youth. Made in Acorn calf leather, finished with a single leather sole.”

unconditional autumn 2009 01 Unconditional Autumn/Winter 2009

Phillip Stephens originally created Unconditional as a capsule collection to go inside his London store, Concrete, in 2003. Since then it’s evolved into a label of its own and is sold worldwide. This AW09 collection is sure to drive away purists who think half of what we post is comedy, but those with open minds should enjoy their unique take on velvet smoking jackets, biker style jackets and drapey rollnecks. Take a look at the rest of the collection after the jump.

Narrative Fringed Loafers

narrative fringed loafers Narrative Fringed Loafers

Fashion fanatics will have spotted the fringed trend making its way into women’s fashion lately. While some would say this is a women’s trend crossing over, we’d argue that this is more the influence of Visvims popular FBT Lattice shoe. Wherever the influence was from, these shoes make fringing look like a rather attractive proposition – they’ll certainly be a welcome break from the abundance from boat shoes that’ll be around this summer. Get them from ASOS.

01. Johnnie Walker Black Label

“We’ve just designed a limited edition bottle to mark the 100 year anniversary of both Johnnie Walker Black Label and Selfridges. Each of the 100 bespoke bottles produced has a real leather label and is individually numbered. Exclusive to Selfridges, each bottle costs £100.” (lovelypackage)

02. Flexible Coat Tree

“Jeff Miller’s BLOOM coat rack makes clever use of the flexible nature of wood: When not in use it keeps a narrow profile, but hanging a jacket on one of the armatures causes it to bend like a tree branch…” (core77)

03. Top Films of Tribeca Film Festival 2009

“An unusually solid year for the Tribeca Film Festival, the post-9/11 creation formed by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff fared a much more manageable list of 85 features compared to the unwieldy slate of years past, resulting in a wealth of high quality films and events around lower Manhattan.” (coolhunting)
