makr flap wallet Makr Antique Ox Flap Wallet

We’re loving Makr at the moment. The small shop is kicking out some unique accessories for me which should not be passed over. This antique ox flap wallet is sure to raise some eyebrows “The Flap Wallet is a horizontal flap closure wallet with receiving strap. The strap tightly closes the wallet and hides a laser etched logo panel. The design protects cards and allows for cash to be folded once and slipped behind.” Hand finished and beautiful. Yours for 120$US.

hickey autumn winter 2009 01 Hickey Autumn 2009 Looks and Interview

Our friends at ACL put forth a great look at Hickey’s Autumn 2009 collection that is complemented by an interview with designer, Aaron Levine. When asked about the inspiration for the new season, Levine responds, “The inspiration comes from the honor of working for one of the best clothing manufacturers sprung from this wonderful country’s loins. I mean, the Hickey Freeman factory is an institution. My inspiration comes from trying to humbly and faithfully represent Hickey Freeman while at the same time challenging the consumer to reject any negative preconceived notions they may have about a century old tailored clothing company. ”

curated mag - What Was Good Design? MoMa's Message 1944-56

In the mid 19th-century, MoMa played a major role in defining and disseminating “Good Design.” The concept of “Good Design” took shape in the 1930s, and grew in importance in the post war years. In the new exhibition, What Was Good Design? MoMa’s Message 1944-56, selections from the Museum’s design collection are used to illuminate the primary values of “Good Design” as espoused by museums, design councils, and department stores.

The exhibition is on view until November 30, 2009.
