The “cool kids” rock moleskins. Real m’f'ers rock Rhodia all day – No.16 to be precise. Paul Smith knows this as well which is why they have teamed with Rhodia to celebrate the French brand’s 75th anniversary with a set of special designer edition notebooks. Founded in Lyon, France in 1934, Rhodia has become a standard notebook in European households and beyond for decades. the collaborative notebooks with Paul Smith feature the standard orange as as well a black edition with various designs on the covers.

The black Paul Smith covers for Rhodia have my name written all over them. I’m sold. Look for them at the end of May. 5×5 graph paper runs.

Julian Red’s Striped Matador Sweater should not be confused with classic naval gear. With it’s 100% cashmere base, it is much more than a military garb. Young designer Arndt Menke wrote his master’s thesis on how careful attention to woods natural retention, expansion, and anisotropic properties have design advantages. His writings led to tangible material experimentation with the Holzweg Wood Frame bike. The bike frame is completely produced of wood, and weighs in at 2.3 kg. Rather attractive too. (via Yanko).

We’re noted fans of Narrative here at Selectism, they pretty much tick all our shoe need boxes. We decided to catch up with Scott Emerson, creative director of Narrative, and quiz him about his shark sole shoes, work outside of Narrative and his favourite shoe of the collection.

We’ve reported about the 100th Anniversary of London department store Selfridges several times. By now, some of the specially conceived product will be familiar. We’ve also reported on a few of the recent window treatments the store has mounted. For these, Selfridges are well known. Wallpaper* celebrates the birthday in brilliant fashion today with a slide show of some of the most memorable displays of the last 100 years.

We’ve shown two previews of Narrative’s AW09 collection (here and here), so we feel it’s only right that we now show the full collection. We’ve been fans of Narrative’s collections for a good while now and with collections as strong as this, that’s set to continue. As usual, the range features every shoe you could possibly think of, from desert boots to shark sole oxfords. We hate to use cliches, but there really is something for everyone in this collection. We’ll also have a Q&A coming with with Creative Director Scott Emerson, so keep an eye out for that later on today.

We know you’ve probably seen a thousand denim shirts by now but bear with us – this one is (slightly) different. First off, the fade is in between the usual light or dark washes we see on shirts, making this an useful addition to your wardrobe should you have either of those washes already.
