Pare Gabia Suede Leather Slip-Ons

pare gabia shoes 00 Pare Gabia Suede Leather Slip Ons

France’s Pare Gabia pushes out some interesting slip-ons for day to day wear. The leather and suede upper give them a casual flavor which is unlike many of the shoes we’ve presented for the Summer. They may be difficult to find but Edifice online has some excellent colorway options.

ufv project front The Unfamiliar Vintage Project

This summer photographer Tom Craig, actor Thom Browne, and Garbstore founder Ian Paley will produce a series of six photography books based on Garbstore’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection shoot. Each features hand laid polaroid style prints, and is hand annotated by the creators. A pair will land in Tokyo, a second pair will be offered in LA, and the third at Portobello Road. Each is reasonably priced, and if found and returned, the buyer will be richly rewarded.

If you find one of the Unfamiliar Vintage books, simply follow the instructions and you will soon see what happens.

Church’s Autumn/Winter 2009

church autumn 2009 01 Churchs Autumn/Winter 2009

Church’s are one of those labels who are known within the shoe community, but have kept a very low profile outside it. Their AW09 collection features several impeccably made and seasonally appropriate footwear but ,once again, their desert boots are the standout pieces for us. Coming in off-white, navy (pictured above) and khaki, the heel has been change from the SS09 versions to be slightly more suited to adverse weather. Our other picks would be the suede loafers and semi-brogues, although the whole collection is desirable.

Take a look at the collection after the hop, skip and jump.

Church’s Chetwynd Shoe

church chetwynd 01 Churchs Chetwynd Shoe

Tres Bien quietly slid in Church’s into their stock list about a week or so ago and now they’ve received their first styles in. Sadly, they don’t have the suede desert boots we featured from their SS09 collection, but they do have a great selection of Church’s continuative styles. Our pick of the bunch is the Chetwynd shoe, Church’s classic full brogue. At £460, the price is far from cheap – but the quality is far better than any designer shoe sold at the same price. Get it from Tres Bien. Also, check back later for Church’s Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection.

Check after the jump for detailed images.

Barbour Duffle Coats

barbour duffle coats Barbour Duffle Coats

We’ve been searching high and low for a nice Barbour product that hasn’t been co-opted by guys who used to wear ill-fitting vintage clothing. These duffle coats would be perfect for those who like what Barbour stand for, but don’t want to take on the ‘farmer on a city break’ look that’s been gaining popularity in London. They come in short and long varieties and come in a myriad of colours, included the ones pictured above. We know this isn’t spring wear, but this is a purchase you won’t regret when summer disappears. Get the short version here and the long version here.

quiksilver diamond dobby board shorts Quiksilver Diamond Dobby Board Shorts

Today is that unofficial/official start to Summer in the United States. And when the weather is on point for Memorial Day, we hit the beaches. Today, I am taking a pair of Quiksilver Diamond Dobby Board Shorts with me to the sand. Choose from 20 or 22 inch length in a variety of patterns. But what youre buying here is the Diamond Dobby technology that makes them some of the most comfortable of board shorts. Serious.

“Because of the innovative, embossed diamond-patterned material, 30% less of the boardshort actually touches your skin resulting in a rash-free surf experience. In addition to virtually eliminating rashing and chafing, the material reaches the pinnacle of comfort and performance with 33% vertical stretch and remarkable fabric memory to maintain shape.”

occidorient carpet francois mangeol 00 Occidorient Carpet by François Mangeol

Here is a great carpet by François Mangeol entitled, “Occidorient.” It is a mixed representation of Western and oriental cultures, “using representative codes and try to offer, a second reading and an update of a know how. Historically, the Persian carpet deals with divine. It always filled in East a double function, practical and symbolic. So it is built as a work of architecture, representing a plan. It establishes a magic space including the sphere of the universe.” The symbols on the carpet are drawn from typographic elements found in the Times New Roman family “It performs, by aggregation and without any deformation of the typographic characters, a lots of “odalisque.” (yatzer)

While the adults in the house enjoy a bit of sparkling this Summer on the terrace, be sure the young ones are not left out. We recommend any variety of sparkling apple juice which should be readily available from most grocery stores. But if you want them to feel a bit more luxurious, find something special like Bom Pommillon and order it from Colette so you can tell them it came special for them from Paris.
