01. TYPO Berlin 2009

“Some use the new tools to perfect their designs, while others feel driven out of virtual reality back to real life, often out of denial. Both these poles – and everything in between – are the theme of the TYPO Berlin 2009 SPACE conference.” (typoberlin)

02. Madrid’s ‘Distrito C’ Self Shading Solar Office

“Distrito C is an ambitious project designed to consolidate 40,000 employees in Madrid from Spain’s largest company, Telefonica. The complex includes four phases of three buildings each, for a total of twelve structures. The design and materials for the buildings are identical so as to streamline the construction process and keep time and material waste to a minimum.” (inhabitant)

03. Three Questions For…Boutique Hoteliers, Thompson Hotel Group

“As the economic downturn freezes travel plans, the hotel industry has hit a rocky patch. In April, room rates in New York City fell by more than 23% from a year ago, according to Smith Travel Research, and nationally occupancy is off by more than 8% over the same period.” (wsj)

04. Kool-Aid Man Returns in Race Against Soda (above)

Robert Geller Autumn/Winter 2009

robert geller fall winter 2009 00 Robert Geller Autumn/Winter 2009

There is a certain perceived stuffiness in the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection from Robert Geller. Forgive me but the wears remind me of tight Victorian Age fashions that accentuate the figure rather than the individual. With that said, Geller does take aim and brightening the colorwheel for Autumn with shades of purple and bush. Falco friendly wears from Robert Geller.

bumpy pitch tshirts 00 Bumpy Pitch Footie T Shirts

Brooklyn Wanderers is not some kind of slang for nyc hipsters They’re a professional soccer team from the late 1890’s. Bumpy Pitch a newline inspired from the culture and lifestyle of soccer. The brand wasforged by two young soccer playing professionals from Los Angeles.
The brand’s cut & sew style tees feature old logos from professional soccer teams dating all the way back to 1800’s. The logo’s have a solid vintage feel without being overdone like some AnF “vintage” tee with a pervy jingle across the front.  The Fall River Marksmen was actually a Boston area based team from the early 1900’s and according to these gents they feel you can’t move forward without having a better understanding of your past. Way to pay respect to those that walked before you.

Illustrator Adam Simpson received his MFA from the Royal College of Art in 2006. His latest high profile commission comes Terence Conran, who tapped Simpson to device a graphic for the elevators of his new hotel in Shoreditch, London. Simpson’s work is based on a multitude of “boundaries” with an aesthetic in keeping with the Victorian origin of the building. All the work is hand drawn and then pieced together digitally.
