01. AIR FOREST: Inflatable Pavilion Lights up the Night

“Mass Studies created this wonderful dream-inspired pavilion for Denver’s Dialog:City last summer. Known as the Air Forest, the pneumatic pavilion absorbs passing wind currents to stay inflated and provides shade while allowing sunlight to filter through, creating a vibrant public space. The 1,400 square meter structure is easily transported, sets up in a snap without any building materials, and at night it lights up in a beautiful display of luminous pillars.” (inhabitant)

“Pixies have announced details of a European tour for October that includes shows in London, Dublin and Glasgow.” (nme)

04. Milan Fashion Week: Menswear Gets A Little Boyish

“Shrouded as they were in questions of economic turmoil, the spring/summer ‘10 Milan menswear shows had a mysterious aura surrounding them. This season’s collections were a melange of emotions, ranging from the minimalist to the avant-garde, but overall seemed to exhibit a return to playfulness.” (jcreport)

05. Meeting Modernity 21

“Unearthed outside of the city of Sano in Tochigi-ken, this portrait photography series documents Japan as it engaged with modernization and commercial photography in the Meiji and Taishō Periods.” (neojaponisme)
