swear fall 2009 footwear 00 S***R Footwear for Autumn/Winter 2009

London’s own S***R is dropping their AW09 styles and well they certainly know how to keep things looking fresh. A quick peek at some of these kicks was all we needed to know everyone should own at least
one pair. Combining classic, casual, and contemporary, the Iggy is the perfect all around shoe bringing together an oxford-like upper and comfortable rubber sole with minimal detailing. And the asterisks along the heal add a unique and distinguishing touch. And S**R steps up their game with the release of the Vinnie, a classic oxford with a bright sole. Throw a pair of these on to add the perfect edge to any conservative or traditional look. -cw

Many more looks at the S***R Footwear Collection for Autumn/Winter 2009 after the jump.

Pierre Hardy Autumn/Winter 2009

pierre hardy autumn 2009 01 Pierre Hardy Autumn/Winter 2009

You can always rely on Pierre Hardy to make great high tops. The former Dior footwear creative director has been going since 2002 in the men’s side of things, offically starting the high top collection back in 2006. Three years on and the fashion landscape has changed immeasurably. High tops have moved from diversive footwear to staple, so the dilemma now is not how to make them high-end, but rather how to make them feel like new.

As a result of this, we’re noticing more experimentation in the materials used, and in Hardy’s case more luxurious materials, while the silhouette remains the same. For example, the versions pictured above are suede with patent lining while below the leap you can see various uses of calf leather and gold.

Take a look at the high top armada after the leap.

Edifice Navy Blazer

edifice blazer 01 Edifice Navy Blazer

What’s that? you want more pieces you can only get hold with a proxy? well here they are. Our love for Edifice has been well noted (just type Edifice into our search bar and you’ll find out) and this blazer is yet another reason why. Piping always nautifies pieces, but the other detail we love is the white buttons. Navy blazers can go with a wide array of pieces, but we do think that it’ll match especially well with the Opening Ceremony blazer we featured yesterday. Get it from Style Cruise.

Check detailed shots after the leap.

Dolce & Gabbana T-Shirt

12 June 2009, 10.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

dolce gabbana tee Dolce & Gabbana T Shirt

We’ve never been ones for the v-neck t-shirt – even before it was universally hated. We just feel the V isn’t as flattering as the crewneck and, more importantly, it just doesn’t look as good. Despite all this, the graphic print on this Dolce & Gabbana tee is good enough to distract our eyes, if only because we’re amazed that a print of two birds on a branch actually looks desirable. As you’d expect, it’s not cheap – but if your budget stretches to buying £150+ t-shirts, then we’d heartily recommend it. Get it from Matches.

01. Sex Issue: Type Tart Cards (above)

“Tart cards are the means by which many London prostitutes advertise their services. Step into almost any central London phone box and you can contemplate up to 80 cards inviting you to be tied, teased, spanked or massaged.” (wallpaper)

02. Ben Sherman Discontinues Kids’ Line, Because Being Cute Isn’t Good Enough

“Ben Sherman’s hipsters-in-training children’s line is no more. Oxford Industries Inc., the parent company, announced today that they are discontinuing the children’s clothes for the label, saying it doesn’t have the luxury of being “fun and cute” in a recession.” (nymag)

03. Kevin Cyr

“Kevin Cyr is a Brooklyn based illustrator. The mundane recast as extraordinary…Beautiful.” (iso50)

04. Cutting Packaging Down to Size

“Smaller, lighter packaging generally raises red flags with consumers. It usually signals they’re getting less product for their money instead of the steady, insidious price hikes which always cause consternation, especially in a down economy. But that isn’t always the case nowadays.” (dieline)

05. SKREAM B2B BENGA LIVE from Skream’s B-day Bash

You don’t have to listen to Bon Iver and Grizzly Bear all day. Well recommended for that savvy reader who needs a refresher of the dark type. God gave you ears – use them, but not on “Donk.” That’s all I’m saying… (bntl)

Amron Experimental Leather Bandages

scott amrom band aids bandages Amron Experimental Leather Bandages

We’re getting there people. You know, that point where just about everything from a simple bandage can be converted into a work of luxury… in someone’s eyes. Amrom Experimental has issues some “Donor Skin” bandages of the “band-aid” variety, and I happen to like them. I doubt I would prefer them over the one use Band-Aid variant I would pick up at my local apothecary, but they’re interesting enough to get some reaction out of the crew. They’re 18$US. Short money for good look. (r29)
