Now that Stansfield’s SS09 collection has dropped at Selectism supporter Daniel Jenkins (who handily reminded everyone via his twitter) we can take a closer look at a few pieces.  While the whole collection is dope – we featured the reversible jacket the other day – this cotton canvas blazer caught our eye.

Modelled by Jenkins himself, this cotton canvas blazer have some great touches to it, including a shawl collar and a contrast trim. The colour means it’ll go well with some navy chinos if you wanted to wear it in summer, in winter you could easily work it into a Junya Watanabe-esque look. (DanielJenkins)

My favorite pair of slip-on sneakers at the moment come from Zuriick with their Ake model. The green vulcanized sole against the black canvas upper is simply on point and pricepoint is pretty damn good too. A great look for the Summer. Available now from Need Supply Co. for 55$US. We’ll start out by saying it will not come in at the same price as the duffle you can pick up at your sports store, but you’re also buying Dior Homme here. The price will not be the same. 03. Daniel’s Daily Monster

This is great “Every school day since May 7th I’ve been drawing a little Monster Card for my son Daniel’s lunchbox. Not totally sure why I started this, but he enjoyed the first one, and it’s become a ritual. Every morning when making his lunch, I give myself 5 minutes to draw a monster on paper from one of those memo pad things, give it a name and quickly photograph it with the iPhone.” (hicks>danielsmonster)

05. The Idea of a Tree

NYT has a feature on Michael Bastian that’s worth a reading. “As can be seen from the gentlemanly elegance of his quarters, Mr. Bastian is old-school. In his world, men are still from Mars. Or at least Dartmouth. And it seems he has a point. How else to explain his dark-horse rise as a men’s wear designer? … Mr. Bastian has found surprising success with an agenda so modest it almost seems radical: to give men slimmed-down, spiffed-up versions of the all-American clothes they have long loved.”

You have to give it to the shoe upstart brand, Noodles, for doing and describing things as they do. Their brand’s credo “Cheap, tasty and useful. Just like noodles!” They seem to be right on the money with their Sampan Rig model of boat inspired sneakers which are simple and to the point. Now, they make no secret the fact that their shoes are produced in China. As they mentioned, “they’re proud of it… the chinese have always been best when it comes to noodles.”
