the generic man shoes fall 2009 000 The Generic Man Autumn 2009 Footwear

Autumn footwear is heating up nicely with many lines taking a more modern approach. While many lines are remaining on track or planning “continuations” of their classic looks, The Generic Man continues to experiment with fabrics and colors on their various silhouettes, giving them a very unique look in the crowd.  We bring your a first look at The Generic Man Autumn 2009 collection. Our favorite, The Chuckman, returns in a variety of colorways (shown above), but for those who want to remain traditional, be sure and check the patent black Tux model with it’s double overlay upper. Find them soon at Barneys US, Beauty & Youth Japan, and Antonia in Milan.

Many more looks at The Generic Man Autumn 2009 Footwear collection after the jump.

alexander mcqueen spring 2010 sneaker 01 Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010 Sneakers

We’ve managed to get a very sneaky peek at a couple of sneakers from Alexander McQueen’s SS10 collection, which were part of their presentation from Paris last week. The dandified trainers are a sneaker version of an oxford shape-wise, using the laceless style that’s been growing in popularity.

After the leap you can see the paint splattered version of the sneaker and we’ll have more McQueen sneak peeks later on this week.

The dudes from one of our favourite online blogs, Street Etiquette, were at the Pop-Up Flea. The store received a flood of blog love when it was announced and, judging from the pictures, it lived up to every expectation.

Amongst the vintage finds were a number of our favourite brands, including columnists Billy Kirk, 3Sixteen and Alexander Olch.

Check out more pictures of the event after the leap.

red brick sole front Mark McNairy Loafer and Buck

Mark McNairy brings contemporary appeal to classic footwear. As creative director of J. Press, McNairy has built a strong reputation for breathing new life into traditional garments. The shoes are constructed by hand in England (Northamptonshire to be exacted) on a Goodyear welt. The uppers allow for multiple sole replacement, meaning you can dance several years of nights away in these fine loafers and bucks. Above is the “Lincoln” a tan suede loafer.

After the jump check out the “Fred,” an ivory suede buck. Both shoes are now in stock at Epaulet.

our legacy spring 2010 footwear 03 Our Legacy Spring/Summer 2010 Footwear Preview

H(Y)R turn us onto Our Legacy’s SS10 footwear collection, which was previewed at the Capsule Paris event last week. The collection is a continuation rather than a departure, carrying on Our Legacy’s ethos of adapting classic styles for a younger audience. As usual, Our Legacy shoes remain a great purchase for those who can’t get hold of Church’s seasonal collections – incredibly difficult to get hold of outside of visiting a store – which are priced at around the same as Our Legacy shoes.

Aside from the Oxfords featured above, other shoes included in this preview are a pair of loafers and suede boots.

Tim Hamilton Spring 2010

Fashionisto gives their take on the Tim Hamilton Spring 2010 show. “For his first Paris junket, American designer Tim Hamilton looked to the stars above for inspiration and the end result is a futuristic collection that seems simple enough, but not for the faint of heart. The collection’s garments are loose and relaxed, but with reason. Embracing a sheer and sheen policy, the collection evolves around see-through numbers like the translucent coat or nylon leggings…” Read the full write-up at Fashonisto.

John Galliano Spring/Summer 2010

john galliano spring summer 2010 00 John Galliano Spring/Summer 2010

The most talked about show coming out of Paris is arguably the John Galliano “Napolean Bonaparte” inspired runway show held inside a decade old abandoned pool. Armand Limander for NYT’s “The Moment” put it best, “His fantastic exposition, set to a blaring soundtrack that included an homage to Michael Jackson, piled on an assortment of distressed leather jackets, heavily embroidered coats, amazing turbans (some made out of shirts), wreaths of flowers and, needless to say, plenty of his signature underwear. The models were transformed into historical characters, whether it was in reference to Bonaparte’s travels to Egypt and Sicily, or the reinterpretation of his grand military silhouettes in the 1927 silent film “Napoléon” by Abel Gance…” (photos:menstyle)
