Suzy Menkes latest story for NYT and it’s EU counterpart the IHT had me paying attention when we checked into our hotel this morning in Barcelona (we’re in town to cover Brandery). Ms. Menkes look into Berlin Fashion Week and the return of Bread & Butter put focus on the possible diconnect between street fashion and high fashion in the Berlin. “Just as people tell you that all the best places to eat are part of Berlin’s subculture — hidden, under-the-radar places — so there is a frustrating feeling that what appears on the runway has little to do with the hard and funky club scene in the Bohemian Kreuzberg section.”
A must read for anyone interested in the Berlin fashion scene – one I am paying close attention to myself as I report from the city this month.
