Selectism - MWM for Open, Traitor Bike Frames

MWM is on a roll at the moment - Wired loves his work and did you see his custom Mini Cooper? He continues to push his graphic look onto new forms. Take his upcoming show at Open’s Chorus Gallery, “Momentum,” which explores his graphics against a series of Traitor track bicycle frames. “In part with Open and Traitor Cycles, Matt will be presenting a series of five hand-painted frames, a cycling cap and some other soft goods.  In conjunction with the frames, Matt will be hanging some of his signature canvas work.”  We’re fans.

More looks at the MWM for Open, Traitor Bike Frames after the jump.

  1. Stellar Win:

Stripes painted on a hipster bike frame? Thats sure to get some attention outside of your local $1 draft fixie fail bar. Not impressed.

  2. Sooper JJ:

Geeze, don’t be such a hater. Check out his website to make a more informed opinion. http://www.mwmgraphics.blogspot.com/

  3. egad:

Agree with Stellar – it’s not hating to call bullisht what it is.

  4. egad:

oh, and after seeing website that goes double unless you live in a shoebox in Iowa

  5. to each his (or her) own shoebox i guess. http://mwmgraphics.com/2008_SHED_BURNER.html seems to me you guys are taking a fun side project a bit personal. a bike frame is just a new medium to work with. granted the execution is simple but it seems like all the artists that come through a gallery in a bike shop are just doing their interpretation on frame graphics. i guess i just think the whole back and forth made me laugh, that\’s all. take it or leave it sort of thing.

  6. well put meg… totally agreed.
