Selectism - Motor Yacht A by Philippe Starck

When Russians spend, they spend. “Philippe Starck designed Motor Yacht A with Martin Francis for Russian billionaire  Andrey Melnichenko. Built by Blohm+ Voss,  Motor Yacht A is 119 meters long and weighs approximately 5500 tonnes. Reminiscent of a submarine warship the mega yacht’s name is a tribute to Andrey Melnichenko and his wife Serbian fashion model Aleksandra Nikolic. (designboom)

  1. This vessel is absolutely crazy! Looks more like a space ship than a boat.

What I’d like to see is what they did with the interior. I can only imagine. Who says money can’t buy happiness?

  2. Robin P.:

Pretentious and uninteresting design as a whole, this guy should go get a sailing boat and learn how to sail, and Stark should retire…

  3. ba:

I saw this boat anchored off the island of Capri for a week. It’s absolutely amazing.

  4. Captain H:

Saw her in the Tobago Keys in the southern Caribbean a few days ago. We first saw her when she was about 5 miles away, then again as she motored slowly into the anchorage and dropped her “hook”. Truely astonishing! Because of the unusual design it is difficult to grasp her true size – very smooth and graceful “in the flesh”. Moves through the water with virtually no wake! Hey – if ya got it, flaunt it!!!!

  5. Terry:

I just saw it in St. Maarten last week, Beautiful display of craftsmanship. I would hate to have to pay the gas bill.
