Thought I am not sure how long I could handle having this Masakage Tanno wooden business card holder in my denim pocket, I am sure it will be a serious conversation piece when delivering my deets to a visitor in the the office. “Made from Japanese Oak or Padouk, each case has a magnet embedded in the wood to close them shut. The hinges and detailing are of Ebony.” Each is available for a reasonable 85$US.

A fresh take on the field jacket from Oliver Spencer. Made in the UK, the field jacket is finished in a theobald dark grey color and is made from 100% cotton. Careful with the shrink. Stick with the dry cleaning. The button closures are about as good as it gets against the grey tone of the piece. A nice slim fit gives it a look proper for all the homeys in the trad land. One of the highlights of Bread and Butter was Edwin’s SS10 collection and we can give you a tiny preview of what’s to come. To no ones surprise, denim makes an appearance in this collection – but we can also show you a couple of non-denim pieces that’ll make you realise just why we liked this collection so much.

Forthcoming from Prestel, I’m One: 21st Century Mods delivers a series of photographs capturing the contemporary Mod lifestyle throughout the UK. Taken by Horst A. Friedrichs, the photographs are a sensitive portrayal of the Mods. That being said, the book is also a source book for the right look. The obsession with style and detail associated with the culture well documented throughout.

Built of plastic and wood, the Illum Chair is designed off the female pelvis. Demaris and Mark conjured the idea while expecting their first child. The Barcelona-based studio and design duo worked from a desire to re-create the space that supports the beginning of life. And thus, they created the cradle-like seat in adult proportion, giving the wooden splat a rib-like aesthetic. (via Yatzer).

Sometimes trends tend to go in and out of fashion without ever making their way into the mainstream. That’s what happened to tote bags. There’s no shortage of nice ones (we’ve featured more than our fair few) but blog posts about totes have suddenly gained a defensive air about them.

This Hakkin.It bag does one thing that totes can’t – make you look like you mean business. Regardless of where you work, there are times when you need to look like a man on a mission (especially in times like these). This bag provides that. For some bizarre reason, cream shawl neck sweaters are incredibly hard to come across. Even if you do find one, it’s usually a poor quality, floppy shawl neck version done by a high street retailer. So that’s why we were glad to find this luxurious looking sweater. We know it’s a little forward to be looking at AW09 pieces when it’s swelteringly hot in most places, but that’s the (somewhat stupid) way the fashion world works. (Browns)
