FANATIC Soccer Tournament Custom Jerseys

Selectism - FANATIC Soccer Tournament Custom Jerseys

While in NYC this week, I assumed the big talk of the town would be the various tradeshows happening throughout the city, but I was wrong. The real story was the leadup to this weekend’s FANATIC soccer tournament being thrown by adidas. And with the tournament comes some very fashionable custom jerseys for the event. “The 8th annual FANATIC soccer tournament—a sort of World Cup for the creative class—goes down tomorrow at New York’s Chelsea Waterside Park, pitting teams from downtown shops (Opening Ceremony, The Smile), labels (United Bamboo), and the art scene (Chinatown Soccer Club, which has included Ryan McGinness and Mark Gonzales, and its offshoot team, the Krauts) against one another. With a group like this, what’s must-see: The footer prowess?” (men.style)

Limoland for Yoshida Porter Spring/Summer 2010 New Boston Bag

Here’s another first look at the ongoing collaboration between Limoland and Yoshida Porter. This time it’s the New Boston Bag that gets the makeover treatment from the French brand. The casual luxury brand are known for their love of bright colours, but they’ve been turning it down a notch for SS10. The light grey version (pictured above) is as bright as they go, with navy and black being the other colourways. Fans of brightly coloured bags may be shedding a neon tear right now, but fans of the understated can now look at Limoland without having a seizure.

Take a gander at the other colourways after the leap.

Albam Cavalry Twill Car Coat

selectism - albam-car-coat-01

Does anyone not like Albam? We ask because we can’t find anyone who’ll say so out loud. They’re also one of the few stores that are expanding this year, with a made-to-measure suit shop as well as another store planned for Shoreditch (that’s an exclusive, as the tabloids say).

Car coats kinda flew under the radar this season, but if your area is prone to random downpours then a coat like this is a spring essential. It’s lighter than that winter trench you thought you could get away with in the heat of summer and the colour means it’ll look good with anything bar beige chinos. It’s also on sale at £125. (Albam)

Detailed shots after that leap.

Limmer Boot Inc.

selectism - Limmer Boot Inc.

The Limmer family has been making fine footwear since 1919. Hiking boots, the first U.S. patented downhill ski boot, and Tyrolean walking shoes are examples of their efforts. In 1925, the family moved to New Hampshire, establishing their growing tradition of boot making in New England.

Things have changed since 1919 though. In the mid-1970s the Limmer’s entered into agreement with a manufacturer in Bavaria to offer a wider distribution models like the standard boot. While the option of a fully custom hiking boot still exists, Limmer Boot Inc. recognizes that not every customer desires or requires a custom made shoe. The boots sold “off the rack” still are built to exacting standards and with a good amount of handcraft.

The Standard Mountaineering Boot has “All the quality of custom-made Limmers, without the wait for a custom boot. The Standard can be seen above. Limmer also produces some gorgeous walking shoes and oxfords. Those two after the jump.

Grenson Foster Canvas Oxford

selectism - grenson-canvas-oxford-shoes

We featured this before but now the sales are in full flow it’s time to take a closer look. We hate to talk about the weather all the time (actually as an Englishman it’s my favourite topic) but in a rainy summer like this, you’ll need a shoe material that can deal with a bit of rain. We love us some suede, but it can’t handle rain. Canvas can. It may soak your feet a little, but it’ll never get ruined completely by it. So if you need a shoe that’ll hold up in the rain as well as look good all year round, vote canvas. (ASOS)

Check out detailed shots after the leap.

Selectism - Capsule NY | b Store Spring 2010 Preview

One more look from (capsule) NY. This time from London’s b Store. We have focused on their footwear often (for good reason) but more shine is needed on their garments. Here is a quick look at some of their outwear for men coming down the pipeline. Overall classic looks fashioned for a more modern take.

More looks form the b Store Spring 2010 collection after the jump.
