Selectism - Tim Soar Spring/Summer 2010 Preview

Trendland gives a preview of the Tim Soar Spring/Summer 2010 collection. “British designer Tim Soar showcased his menswear collection entitled ‘Folding Diagrams for a Spread Squash’, further elaborating ,  ’A spread squash consist of pulling in (nearly) opposite directions to form a new shape within an existing base.’ I love that metaphor for deconstruction, though I am not really seeing much of that in this collection. It feels like a serious throwback to something of eighties rockabilly inspired minimalism in conjunction with some novel detailing.” YMMV.

More looks at the Tim Soar Spring/Summer 2010 collection after the jump.

  1. the outfits look way too outdated. it really is a throwback look. it’s too rigid and stuffy. i think it’s the flattop plus the high-waisted pants that are giving me a bad vibe..

  2. Terrible.

  3. Well…
Outdated, there are references from the 70s and early 80’s throughout this shoot…
I think you are nitpicking and should actually realise London isn’t just about newvaux, bright, brash, experimental youth style, I like the mix of a young brown boy bringing a bit a of a slight 80s dimension to the whole “Belle Epoque of blacksploitation” from the era that the clothes are inspired by.
If you have any idea of fashion or high waist your criticism’s would not be so basic and you would realize the whole tone of the images. As the model I feel very interseted in what people think of my look, however I feel yeah possibly the execution could have been different, this is a preview not and editorial.
Thanks for having an opinion who ever you are and I hope you have something great to show from your own eyes….
    REGARDS
    MYLES
